Do you think Conor will knock out Oliveira?

The fact that Conor is even mentioned for a title shot shows that the organization puts profit above legitimacy at an insane level.

UFC has always been about profit first.

I don’t think McGregor will ever stop anyone again. He’s on a steep decline, and I think he’ll retire within 3 fights or less.

No, the lifestyle made him brittle. Oliveira is the tougher one of the two now. So he'll grapple him down or standing sub in the first or second round. Big disparity in grappling, and Bronx can strike as well.

This site will talk about how Charles doesn't stand a chance on the striking for weeks, until the fight happens and Charles drops Conor with a left hook and finishes with a choke when Conor gives up his back looking for a way out.

After seeing the way that Poirier had zero fucks about going after Conor in the first round of the trilogy fight, I think that his dangerousness as a puncher at this point is grossly overrated. Poirier took flush shots in the second fight and had zero fear of getting KO'd again in the third.

Good lord no. Charles murders Conrad by any method he'd like.

How on earth can they give a guy who hasn't won a fight in YEARS a title shot?

Just stop it already. There's plenty of legit contenders who have earned their shots by WINNING. Let's see Conor fight a contender.

I mean we all know he'll never fight a contender he doesn't already have history with, but still

Is this Conor Version 8.0 or 9.0 these days?

I lost track after the crotch shot when he was doing pull-ups a couple of weeks ago.

The only Oliveira Conor can knock out these days is Alex "Cowboy" Oliveira, and even then it's far from a sure thing
There is still a cowboy Conor can definitely knockout tho, even on one leg.

And don't get me wrong, a company prioritizing profit is normal. It just feels like the UFC doesn't even try to balance profit and legitimate matchmaking.

I do wonder if Conor cleanly retires, or if he sticks around off and on until he is 70 like many of these boxers. He strikes me as a BJ Penn type that will tarnish his legacy because he needs to have structure, stay in fight camp and keep fighting, or he will get bored and get into trouble. it is really sad that he did not stay in MMA post Eddie, or just retire - Conor robbed Conor of seeing his best version ever and has been at best playing catch up, and after his athletic prime. He got rich, but he robbed himself of what he could have been.

Charles saying he wants to fight the biggest cashcow in the sport and the UFC giving a guy who has been finished in 3 out of his last 4 fights a title shot are two totally different things. of course Charles wants to fight Conor he would make way more money especially getting those champ ppv points but that doesn't mean there is a chance in hell of the fight being booked.

Conor honestly needs a step down in competition. Matching him up with Charles puts Conor at risk of going 0-3. Any other fighter would be questioning their viability in the UFC. Conor is also on a layoff, been injured, and has been unable to train MMA for awhile. Regardless of what the money looks like, the UFC and Conor's camp wouldn't be doing whatever's left of the man's career any justice by supporting that match.
