Do you think Conor will knock out Oliveira?

Conor will never make LW again, most likely. And he will have to pick very selectively his fights at WW. Probably Masvidal or something like that. He can't compete in that division.

But if he were to fight Oliveira, chances are overwhelmingly he gets submitted. Can Conor clip him, sure, but Charles is very resilient, scrappy, resourceful at finding the sub, and Conor has no heart.

I do wonder if Conor cleanly retires, or if he sticks around off and on until he is 70 like many of these boxers. He strikes me as a BJ Penn type that will tarnish his legacy because he needs to have structure, stay in fight camp and keep fighting, or he will get bored and get into trouble. it is really sad that he did not stay in MMA post Eddie, or just retire - Conor robbed Conor of seeing his best version ever and has been at best playing catch up, and after his athletic prime. He got rich, but he robbed himself of what he could have been.
I think he’ll retire. His ego won’t allow him to pile up the losses the way Penn did. And I agree he’ll be a catastrophe when he does retire.

Conor will knock out Oliveira by getting subbed and Oliveira then passing out drunk celebrating yet another title defense and millions of dollars made

Conor definately stands a chance.
Oliveria was hurt pretty bad by both Chandler and Dustin. Yes he recovered, but his chin will crack eventually. Conor is even more precise than those 2, and unlikes those 2, Conor has similar reach to Oliveria.

One of those accounts so ephemeral you'd be tempted to compare them to a mayfly

Assuming he gets the rumored title shot. On paper it's a great fight for Conor. But there are question marks relating his new, mechanical leg.

So do you see Conor handling Oliveira? Or Oliveira sub him when he gasses?
Conor has 45 seconds to win the fight.

Conor honestly needs a step down in competition. Matching him up with Charles puts Conor at risk of going 0-3. Any other fighter would be questioning their viability in the UFC. Conor is also on a layoff, been injured, and has been unable to train MMA for awhile. Regardless of what the money looks like, the UFC and Conor's camp wouldn't be doing whatever's left of the man's career any justice by supporting that match.

Very well said, but as a buisness they'll go where the most money is at this point. Maybe they'll match him with frankie edgar. I have my doubts they'll put him together with another fighter that's not at their best spot of their career, or a beatable contender which isn't easy to find.

If Conor gets any belt fight in any division based on his current record it is a sad day for MMA. He has a losing record at everything above FW. I think Conor needs to plan for Diaz III or maybe a fight versus Masvidal.

McGregors career is basically finished. He’ll still fight but it’s basically over for him at the top

Conor is too inactive and chunky to be a threat at LW not that he was before. His best days were at FW.

Conor should be nowhere near a title fight upon his return. The dude has looked like trash for years now. Conor vs Chandler is the fight to make for his return.

If conor was in his prime I could see him taking out Olivera, right around when he beat Alverez, but I'll be shocked who he even beats in the future.
