Do you think Bellator will ever surpass the UFC as the #1 MMA promotion in the world?

The UFC is off to a very rough start right now for 2018. They're running out of starpower and their ratings are dropping to all time lows.

Meanwhile Bellator is off to a very good start, with their recent event Rampage vs. Sonnen hitting very high view counts for Bellator standards.

Is this possibly a sign of things to come in the future? I'm not talking anytime soon, but maybe a decade or 2 down the road.

No. Bellator biggest stars are from the UFC or PRIDE and out of prime.

If the UFC doesn't start paying their fighters more and or letting them cash in on their own sponsorship's than it is possible. Not very likely but possible.

If WME-IMG keep running it into the ground then maybe.

The UFC is so far ahead.

WME try hard to change that tho...

Bellator 192 with probably their biggest "stars" headlining average 970k, peaked at 1.3m ON FREE TV

Bellator 193 did 470,000 on FREE TV....

in what land is that a good start to the year.. ?

in answer to your question, no.. not if we all live to be 100

Bellator's biggest stars are the UFC's leftovers. That Heavyweight grand prix is just embarrassing - Every combatant involved except for Ryan Bader is some old fighter in their late 30's/early 40's.

no i doubt it, history tends to repeat itself

Their biggest event did 770k viewers dude, thats what Bjorn's weekly tournament with no name Russian dudes did. Thats not good.

Also their last card just did under 500k again.

It's very obvious you didn't pay attention to the part where I wrote "for Bellator standards".

At the trajectory WME is taking it? It's certainly a possibility.

I think we could see promotional dominance in certain divisions, like what Pride once had with the heavyweights.

UFC's profits DESTROYS Bellators whole revenue.
They are not even comparable now

Bellator lost millions on their stacked PPV a few months ago & Rampage/Chael did not pull in good numbers.

MMA interest as a whole is down, but the market share financially is not remotely close!

Chael Sonnen just advanced to the second round of the Bellator HEAVYWEIGHT tournament.

No.

It didn't even do that by Bellator standards
Look at numbers from a few years ago for big Bellator TV cards

The fact you qualified it shows its a silly discussion

With idiots that run UFC today, it very well might.

They need every old legend, LOTS of steroids, and iron injections for Chuck's chin.

You're not wrong, but don't you think that being on a network that didn't exist until two days before the fight hurt those numbers.

I watch TV on sling with roku and they didn't even pick up the paramount network channel until a week after it launched so I couldn't have watched it live even if I was prepared and ready to do so, due to the circumstances of how new that network was..
