AR and AK is more for an upper bedroom window in the country type of scenario, pick em off from a distance.

I have an awesome semi-auto bullpup 12 guage with a vertical foregrip on a hand guard I custom machined for it. With both 20 round drum & a 20 round mag. Green laser site/ light on the foregrip I keep Turkey shot, 00 Buck, & slugs in it. For the money there is not a better weapon in terms of capacity & firepower $ for $ than this setup. The whole shotgun setup probably cost less than a decent AR upper alone.

The problem is shotguns are dangerous for home defense if you have occupied rooms or neighbors. I would 100% worry about penetrating through walls with slugs & 00 buck. If you just use bird shot the pepper may not be enough to stop somebody intent on doing evil.

For pistols I have a mini 50 round drum Tommy Gun like replica. Its only 22LR . But 50 rounds of anything is enough to stop any threat. Plus dont have to worry about over penetrating. Dead accurate too.

I also carry a 22 Mag switch gun that is undetectable even when in your hand. Not the most accurate but nothing beats it for the element of surprise.

As much as I like all of those I would not willing choose those 3 to go up against a threat with an AR. Well maybe the shotgun... my AR is kind of long for home defense or "close quarter combat"

Describe, if you would please, the specifics on a few of those points above. Specifically:

1. Storage of weapons.
2. Licensing requirements.
3. Training requirements.

If you have any guns longer than a pistol, or a certain quantity of smaller firearms, you need a gun safe. Your shit cant just be thrown in a closet or under the bed.

Gun safety classes should become a standard for all once theyre high-school age. Similar to a concealed carry course. Retrain every 5 years or so to prevent complacency.

I think when people say gun culture it's less gun culture and more weirdos obsessed with guns and/or military/survivalist shit.

I have six guns and shoot regularly. I talk to normal people at the range who have guns and like to shoot, think self-defense is important and so on. We sometimes talk about a new gun someone got or bullshit about life. Technically, that's gun culture.

Then there's the guys who show up in full camo, usually with targets of zombies or human silhouette type, can't have normal conversations not about their guns or some weird scenario that inevitably involves them having to shoot people.

Those people are creepy and what I think people mean when they say gun culture.
