Do you recycle?

No, those go in the yellow bin. We don't get paid for returning that stuff.
It's not getting paid. Here we pay the deposit when we purchase it so it is automatically tacked onto the cost and you basically just get your money back when you return them. I believe it is just done this was as an incentive to get people to return them and not just throw them in the trash. That said if you let them build up enough for lets say a 12 pack it kinda does feel like you are getting a free case of beer but you're really not. I like to lie to myself and say it's a free case. lol feels better that way.

Nah they never got me with that scam.

Glad it makes you feel good but it's net loss.

Apparently our authoritarian shitstain overlord, local government decided to do things a little different. They shrunk the normal bins to the point that if you don't recycle, you'd never be able to fit in all your garbage each week.

We can take in cans to get some money, but fuck it, too lazy for that.

Our town does not so I have to take them to a center in a larger city. Sucks, really. Even though it really doesn’t do anything compared to commercial waste I still don’t like to contributeZ

Yes, we do. We dont have a recycling bin but there is a recycling center in town. I usually take cardboard, cans (both soda and vegetable/fruits), and plastics to the recycling center.

My father taught me at a young age about recycling. We did receive a blue recycling bin that we would put magazines, newspapers, etc in. I've been doing the same with my children, and their schools also teach the importance as well.

Recycle damn near everything except soft plastic, even the women (they are considered hard plastics)
And everything else you just leave by the trash and homeless guy will be by to snatch it up within 20min max
The other week I left some old sneakers out and a guy was there as soon as they hit the ground, lol
He was so stoked
They will pretty much snatch anything that isn’t bolted down
Too many homeless around here

No we still dont have it in a lot of cites, but sure I would if it was available.

We recycle all bottles / cans. I know the plastic recycling is actually a net negative, but.... it's a process the hot wife set up and she wins.

I typically compost corrugated shipping boxes from retailers such as Amazon and Walmart, promoting soil health and reducing landfill contributions. 🪱👨🏿‍🌾

Cardboard containing ink, gloss, or coatings is appropriately diverted to the recycling bin to maintain compost integrity and support effective materials recovery ♻️

For plastics and cans, I ensure they are properly rinsed prior to disposal and place them directly into the recycling bin without the use of plastic bags, aligning with best practices to prevent contamination and improve sorting efficiency.

From a cost-benefit perspective, I find that transporting recyclables to a dedicated recycling center yields minimal financial return — approximately $10 annually after accounting for fuel and material costs. Consequently, I opt for the convenience of curbside collection services rather than making dedicated trips, as the marginal gain does not justify the additional effort.

No, I'm not into recycled women. I prefer young and fresh.

Yes, but only because they gave us recycling bins, otherwise, fuck'em.

Of course.. everything recyclable goes to the recyclable bins outside in the beautiful city of Buenos Aires

Organics go ty the compost bin in my yard.

yes. we have to in Europe.

I was told recycling is a scam and waste of time

Apparently most of the material is just junked

About 48 million tons of plastic waste is generated in the U.S. each year; only 5 to 6 percent of it is actually recycled, according to the Department of Energy. The rest ends up in landfills or is burned.
