Do you miss Rampage Jackson?

That was MMA's best era and Rampage slamming Arona is just unforgettable.

I still maintain that Rampage could possibly have been the best ever with a different mindset and better camp. Brutally strong, KO power, could take baseball bats to the chin, great defensive and offensive wrestling (when he actually used it), really good boxing defense, and, of course, his slams. Had he added a few more weapons to his arsenal, he would have been remarkable. Was always excited to watch his fights. So yea, definitely miss the guy.

one of a kind. super funny and entertaining. brutal fighter. lazy in the tail end of his career when it came to fighting wrestlers but it also may have been injury related. glad he won the belt and got to play mr t.

Absolutely. I'm taking big chain wearing, howling at the crowd Rampage. The dude that hit like a truck and tossed people around like he was playing with little children. I don't think there will ever be another Rampage, or anyone comparable. All of the hilarious shit he did in his day isn't socially acceptable now or something like that.

Rampage knew how to defend kicks and he knew how to wrestle.

I don't see a fighter in this division who wouldn't have a hard time with peak rampage. I think people just forget how good he was or just remember his lesser versions.

Rampage only defense against Forrest and Jones' low kicks was to cry afterwards about how they messed up his knees.

Don't miss him at all
  • Made more excuses than anyone for losses, even more than the Diaz bros. He lost because he overtrained, undertrained, was busy filming the A Team, fought a "gamplan" fighter who wasn't willing to brawl, blamed coaches, blamed Dolce, etc.
  • Became one-dimensional boxer while still in his prime years
  • Overrated sense of humor...and pretty disgusting at times

I miss that generation of fighters. Rampage got really far without even training properly until the second half of his career. I don't think he can give back to the sport by teaching or something. There isn't much to teach. What he does works for him only. He was really bad as a coach on TUF.

A lot of MMA fighters aren't interested in passing on the sport to another generation. Rampage's son trains at the bodyshop and Wanderlei's son fights MMA too. Thor seems like a grappler instead of a striker though.

I liked him Rampage a lot was a total badass during his prime years he was great and a top tier LHW. My favorite Rampage memory is his two knockout wins over prime Chuck Liddell when he was looking unstoppable.

He for sure was naturally funny and had crazy natural talent but to me he always displayed too much of the image of a negative stereotype.

(This is from one Black man to another)

No. He was a complete asshole and many of his fights sucked.
