Do you love or hate Donald Trump?

All US presidents are mere puppets, I harbor no ill will against puppets.

Only the puppet master.

I'm not a fan but anything is better than the alternative.
This is increasingly the consensus I think. Trump, the orange clown who would make anyone cringe is better than the garbage democrats have become over the years. Where I find the democrats really loathable is the way they won‘t even own up and concede that they went full retard on identity politics, which was rejected by the voters. That would be fair game. But they prefer to play semantics and pretend that the dumpster fire they became is something conservatives imagined.

But as i said, good riddance. Hopefully USA follows Europe where traditional social democrats exit the scene and are replaced by something new like the real left + greens.

I know who and what he is. There will never be love. But because he is replacing incompetent swamp donkeys, there will also never be hate. Considering he is already having an impact without even being in office yet, the country should feel good they made the only viable choice. Biden has gone off the even deeper end. Kamala is a drunk now. Imagine the pressure of the Presidency on her? No way she could have handled cleaning up the mess the last 4 years made.

I grew to dislike Trump after he and Paul Ryan screwed CA and other coastal states by capping state write offs effectively raising taxes on these high cost areas. It is contrary to the GOP platform and what cost Bush 1 a second term.

I was not happy with the way we left the Kurds in Syria. I was not happy with the way he negotiated departure from Afghanistan.

He's also often easily manipulated by flattery. Even the current tik tok issue demonstrates it. He wanted to block TikTok until he found out he had strong support among the young voters that use it so now he's for it.

While I have been hypercritical of Trump since beginning I also always remind people of his foreign policy accomplishments with the Abraham Accords. This is a huge deal whatever you think of him. Had Trump been any other president he would have received the Nobel Peace Prize. As a counter example Obama fumbled his foreign policy and yet somehow received the NPP.

Even before taking office for the second time Trump was instrumental at ending the Gaza war. It has made me realize how ineffective Biden had become.

I have also been appreciative to Trump(via his SCOTUS picks) for bringing back the 2nd amendment rights back to CA and other Democrat run states where you had to be a Nancy Pelosi to get a CCW. Hopefully he signs the bill that allows for reciprocity among all 50 states. Right now there's a reciprocity among 38 states.

My hope is that Trump doesn't abandon Ukraine and rethinks his tariff idea. The tariffs will absolutely be a tax on average Americans. I was also intrigued by Trump's proposal not to tax overtime earnings.

I also look forward to Trump helping to secure the border. I know there was a bipartisan plan six months ago which Trump wanted GOP to block so he could get credit for it but that's politics.

He would never be my first choice in a primary. But Trump has a way of getting things done, any I trust any conservative administration over any liberal one, no matter who's at the top of it.

If nothing else, he put three new justices on the Supreme Court. Like or hate the rest of his actions or policies, but that's a positive change that will last decades.

I don't like he's being used as a Trojan horse and basically no one recognizes this or are uneasy about breaching the touchy subject.

I like him. He will go down as one of the greatest presidents ever.

I voted like, people voting for love or hate I really hope they are just trolling and not that stupid, especially the love vote.

I am indifferent but he is going to go to jail. He hasn't declared future assassinations of his enemies but what kind of incoming president pump and dumps his own memecoin. This is hawktuah level of fuckery.

Don’t love him or hate him. But I do welcome him back over the shit sucking Biden administration.
I think this is pretty well put. Didn’t vote as none of the options really reflect my thoughts on Trump. I neither love nor hate him, but am also not indifferent to him.

On a moral level, he’s obviously of low character, and has said and done grotesque things. Whilst the charges against him in NY were obviously politically motivated, he did put himself in the position to be prosecuted in such a way - if he’d not need a philanderer then his political opponents could never have used his affair and subsequent payoff against him.

He does show some fortitude in responding to adverse circumstances, and I think the fact that he’s something of a loose cannon is actually a good thing for disrupting the establishment.

In terms of governance I thought 2017-2019 were decent: solid foreign policy, continued and accelerated the economic recovery which had begun under Obama. But he spent too much money and didn’t keep a number of his election promises. 2020 was a disaster, with weak leadership and far too much focus on himself. Overall I thought he was a C+ president 2017-2019 and a D for 2020. I’d have voted for him over Kamala or Biden (Biden was significantly worse as President), but think there were better options for the Republicans.

As a non-American I think it’s actually pretty sad that the most recent candidates have been Trump x 3, an unpopular Hilary, a senile, venal Biden, and Kamala Harris.

He's just an ignorant, narcissistic, greedy shit-pig doing what ignorant, narcissistic, greedy shit-pigs do. He's never known struggle or suffering, and as a result he's a broken human being who craves only power, money, and fame, and lacks empathy, wisdom, and critical thinking skills.

The far bigger disappointment are the tens of millions of people who have known struggle and suffering who voted him into office, because they're so incredibly stupid that they think "the real issues" facing this country are immigrants and trannies, and not the massively accelerating wealth inequality, and corporations that are turbo-fucking the lower and middle classes (and environment...).
Yeah. As much as I hate Trump, my disappointment with my fellow Americans far more profound. Trump won handily and with both the popular and electoral vote. America chose him. It's a democracy, so I am going to do exactly what I did when he won last time. Shut my mouth, strap in, ride the fucking ride, and take comfort in the fact that as a rich old white guy, I'm probably coming out of this OK. But for fuck sakes, how stupid can we be?

Do you really think Harris was a better option? The fact that her promises and rhetoric skewed well to the right of the Biden/Harris administrations governance suggests to me she knew the previous policies and the results were extremely unpopular.

This election was interesting as people had an idea of what both candidates may bring if they were to win. The belief that (pre-COVID) life was better under Trump was more commonly held. As an external observer the US has absolutely weakened on the global stage over the past few years as well. I don’t think either option was great, but Trump was the better of the two for the US long term.

The Dems made a mistake attempting to hang on with a Biden who was clearly unfit to lead. They should have worked to replace him with Harris as soon as the midterms were over to give them time to build a serious option. Letting Biden get as deep as he did in the campaign cycle when he was in obvious decline showed disdain for voters. They painted themselves into an undesirable corner and paid the price.

I chose "like".
He is entertaining and I like to watch him set leftist asses on fire with his mere existence, and I hate modern left radicals even though I would describe my political views as socialist.
I doubt he is a good person in general meaning of those words. Then again, I doubt "good persons" make it into high level politics at all.

Donald is repulsive really as a person. He makes tasteless comments and insults like no other. He mocked Joe by making an impression of his speech being a bit slurred at the Inaugura parade. This is tasteless. He wouldn't say this shit in the pub because he would get ironed out stiff.

Liking Trump seems to be like banging fat chicks. Guys do it, but no one will admit it. He trounced the competition in the primaries but I see so many people act like they do not like him. Like they are afraid to own it.

For me it's more about actions over political party line towing. I don't hate Trump. I don't agree with many things hes done in the past.
