That said, I have no doubt that his clinical psychopathy has contributed to his talent and accomplishments as a fighter. If you discount PEDs as criteria, he’s easily the best MMA fighter of all time, and it’s not even close. It demonstrates how much potential people may unlock if they become untethered by shame or decency.

If you’re seeing this David jackson jones, this is what I mean. There are more criticisms than just PEDs to level at the man, but his “haters” still defend him

I think you can still hate someone, yet acknowledge and respect their talent
E.g. I dislike Kevin Spacey for the awful stuff he has done, but he was a pretty damn good actor.

That’s true, but my hatred of his fans motivated me to look into it, and at this point if I said “he is the greatest of all time” I’d be lying to myself to fit in with the sherdog consensus it seems. Still one of the greatest but not the greatest, and it just irks me at this point
 
i do not care what he does in his personal life but guy is a cheat gets cought many times with failed drug test then goees around acts like he won everything on his own and he is the best lost 3 fights but dana needed hi to stay undefeated but most people see him as a joke in goat conversation. but he is lucky he is in ufc if he was in any other organaization around the world he would not be hyped up as best just because he is black like in usa
 
I don't even like the way he fights. 3 finishes in his last 10 fights and one of those was a TKO vs Chael Sonnen. And it's not like his decision wins are barn burners either - OSP, Santos, Smith, Reyes were all awful snoozefests. His only appeal is that he is undefeated, and that has a major asterisk next to it, as we all know. I can honestly say that I will not miss him when he retires.

Gotta admit I've never thought he's been particularly exciting to watch. (Jones v Gus is one of my fave UFC fights though)

I don't blame you, Jones does make it hard at times to support him
 
I don't know how anyone can still be a fan of this dude. I was a big fan for a lot longer than I should have been considering how many times he fucks up.

I don't know the guy to really like or dislike him.

I dislike a lot of the dumb shit he's done outside of the cage.

Feelings are mixed on his PED history, and before you @ me I sincerely DGAF what ya think about it, don't waste your energy.

I love watching him fight though. My MMA, and most other sports, fanmanship begins and ends on/in the field/ court/ cage, so that's all that really matters to me.
