Are you a fan of them? Do you own them or would get them? I'm about to get my first cat so looking for reccomendation and experiences.

I don't. I'm very much a dog person, and I have no problem with cats.

There's a fox who lives in my neighborhood. I feed him sliced chicken. Foxes are often described as, "Dog hardware running on cat software".

Dogs will freak out when they see you, jumping around acting goofy, not cats, there it;s......yo what;s up. Gotta love it.

Dogs are cool and useful. Love them too. Just something about cats I’ve always loved a bit more. Best animal I’ve ever had was an orange cat named Butters. Hope he is alive still and doing well.

I used to not care for them.

Them my roomate brought a black kitten home, and let them run roughshod around the apt.

I befriended this one, and since, I have been converted.

My 2 year old rescue loves snacks..so spoiled.

My daughter has 3, which pretty much means we all have 3.

They're a pain in the ass. If she told me she wanted to find them new homes I'd completely be on board with it. But of course she'd never say that.

Keeping them off the furniture and counters is almost impossible. And they've destroyed an entire couch to the point where we just threw it away.

But I do enjoy their company since they're around anyway. They are cute and cuddly. I get the appeal.

And the nice thing is that you don't need to take them out every time they need to pee.

But given the choice I'd much rather have a dog.

I was always a dog person but when my grandfather died in 2019 I started taking care of the feral cat that he had been feeding. Now I've got a few ferals that I trapped/fix and now feed. Cats are cool, I never thought I'd be a cat person.

The only pets I've had are cats since a kid. From what I've learned, female cats tend to be more friendly to people. They are often more messy, with food, litter box, knocking things over.

All the male cats we have had tend to practice stranger danger. They can be skittish and often hide at the slightest alarm. The males have tended to be more playful and lived longer.
