Do you know anyone who killed someone?

Doesn't necessarily mean you're wrong... picking on prostitutes who are easy targets doesn't mean he isn't a pussy.
Well, aren't most serial killers often said to be weak, introverse nerdy types?

I'm not falling for this like I fell for the cops wanting to test my meth for Corona virus.

my father- he was (or is, idk if he's still alive) a dirtbag mexican mafia coyote- was robbed in tijuana years ago and shot in the gut and survived- when he was released from the hospital he used his contacts and bribed the police to help him locate two of the three robbers (they never found the third) one guy, one girl- he found and killed them both with no consequences- turns out if you have connects and money you can get away with a lot in mexico- mind you, this was about 40 years ago

I assume we're not including wartime situations.

One of my best buddies was in a car accident where the other two people died. It was complicated and he made an unwise pass but in the middle of that an old couple turned on to the 2 lane highway going the opposite way. It was a violent collision.

This girl at my junior high had killed another kid a couple of years earlier. I don't think it was intentional. I dont' think her home life was very good.

My high school buddy's brother murdered someone. Not surprisingly my buddy was also a criminal. Someone once offered him a lot of money to kill someone --- he didn't do it. FWIW - I'm sure he has a sherdog account. if he sees this, he'll know who i am.

One of my neighborhood friend's dad killed someone with his car. It was an accident but he was never really the same after that.

One middle-school professor (of math iirc) of many friends (who described him as a total wierdo) snapped and killed his wife with a "trinciapolli" then gone around the street naked

#YOLO

It's best to avoid fights. They seem like not a big deal but most people don't realize how easy someone can die... it just takes one lackluster hit at the right spot and lights out. I used to see it all the time when r/watchpeopledie was still a thing.

I was at a bar once and a dude knocked another dude out and he ended up hitting his head on the edge of the bar and dying. Dude got away scott free as he should have as the dude that died hit him first.

Well, considering I was in Iraq twice back in 05 and 06. Many, including myself. Also, does knowing inmates while working in a max prison count? I also worked Death Row a few times so that would add 38 more people to the list of people I know. So, probably triple digits for me.

Man, what a depressing thread! :(
How about "Do you know anyone who saved someone?" Any real live heroes?

Like this guy: Airman First Class William H. Pitsenbarger

"The true story of William Pitsenbarger, a U.S. Air Force Pararescueman who personally saved over sixty men. During a rescue mission on April 11, 1966, Pitts (as he was called) willingly chose to leave the relative safety of the rescue chopper to aid people on the ground when he saw how bad the situation below was. When others in his team declined to go, he put himself at risk to do more to help his fellow Americans. After saving many already, he was ordered to take the chance to escape on the last helicopter out of a combat zone heavily under fire, but he stayed behind to save and defend the lives of soldiers of the U.S. Army's 1st Infantry Division, before making the ultimate sacrifice in one of the bloodiest battles of the war." -- dead at 21.

I kinda know a few but not really on a personal level but I know one real well that accidentally killed a guy in a fight

I guess you could say I have. Guy walked in front of my train , laid down and I cut his head off. Felt the train kick up as the wheel cut through his neck.

That sounds traumatic.

Had one of my friends rant on FB about how crap his life had become , I messaged him about it straight away but he had already left after posting that and killed himself.

Damn. At least you tried, I imagine how many others were like "I should'a talked to him" or "I messaged him an hour too late" or something.

I've only known people who have died. There are 1 person I've known from the states, Brooklyn, NY in the house TS. She was a cop and she used to go to school with my sister and I used to go to school with her little sister. Her name was Sonia Garcia and was killed by her fiance. Feel bad for her little sister.

I've also lost a cousin from Honduras though and I've known about 4 people from honduras who were killed

Very unfortunate. I read under the comments that her husband was a cop too... apparently they have a high rate of DV.

Also, fellow Brooklynite?

Yes. One of my sister’s friends was driving and a young boy ran out in front of his car and he hit and killed him. They found no wrongdoing on his part. But if fucked him up pretty bad.

You probably never recover from that shit. I know Matthew Broderick accidentally killed a kid in a similar manner... He didn't make movies for a while after that.

When I was 12 or 13 my neighbor, who was in the Navy, was on shore leave somewhere in South America and killed a local in a bar fight.

Iraq 2003 and 2004. The saving part is the hardest...

Interesting thing, I was in Ramadi when Chris Kyle and Seal Team 3 were there. Did a number of operations with them. Marc Lee was killed about a half mile from our position, and we lost one of our best guys on the same day.

I am living near jail so I met a dude who killed his wife and her lover with a kitchen knife 30cm long. He is finishing his 40 years of sentence. He killed them and called a police. Didnt hired a lawyer, or nothing.
Pretty chill dude didnt caused any problems during his jail time. He showed me the paper from court where all his defence was "I was busting my ass on work from 9 to 5, for a very comfortable life. They stole my life so I stole theirs"

Damn. That line seemed like it's from a movie, the way you described it, he sounded very logical and mathematical about the whole thing. Lol. Like he knew what he had to do and what the consequences would be and just said "fuck it".

Someone mentioned it already, but I did drive a gf to get an abortion, so maybe I get judged as an accessory sometime after I'm dead.

I know a guy who was held for three years awaiting trial on a murder. Prosecution had a shaky case but wouldn't let go. Key witness died and they had to let him walk.

I know another guy who is inside as we speak for lunging at a cop with a knife while he was on a psychotic episode with the intention of killing a random stranger. He got very lucky that the cop didn't shoot him, then got lucky again when his intended target refused to cooperate with police, and then got lucky again when he got a short sentence plea deal. The thing is, he is a very sweet guy if on his meds. Dangerous when not. Great musician too. He had this idea that if he killed someone it would save the music industry.
