Do you guys think ultimately Petr Yan deserved a TS

Yan was winning the fight and looks to be the better fighter. He's the betting favorite. It needs to happen. The champ should be the best fighter in the world. I say this as someone rooting for Aljo.

Petr yan will rule this division for 5 years, you racist bastards, he is on another level, you know whit about mma
21 posts over 7 years and this is the shit you post?

TJ can fight the loser to earn a title shot. It wouldn't make sense to give him a title shot after a controversial decision win that happened right after coming back from a 2 year ban for cheating.

Was it controversial? It was a close fight, most people didn't have a problem with a split decision going either way. He never lost his title at 135 and just beat imo the most dangerous guy in the division, who gets a title shot before him after Yan/Aljo fight?

Well a lot of people had Sandhagen winning and a lot of people think the judges were crooked that night. He didn't lose his title in a fight but he was stripped of it for cheating and using EPO. That's way worse than losing it in a fight. Not a chance is TJ deserving of a title shot, literally anybody else in the division with a winning record would be a better choice for the next shot.

Yes because he was the best guy in the division at the time off the eye test regardless of resume.

The eye test is irrelevant against lower level guys and 40 year olds who've come out of retirement.

He proved that he was legit against Sterling, but there were a ton of guys who had better wins in that division before he was given the shot against Aldo.

Context is everything.

Moraes had just beat Aldo, and they made a title shot between Aldo & Yan.

All in all, none of it made any sense, merit-wise. But UFC went all UFC on us and gave us the fight they thought people wanted, regardless of merit.

Why ask why.

Welp, I think you're going to be disappointed with how things turn out. TJ is 95% getting the next shot after Yan/Aljo rematch.
