Do you give Grasso the advantage anywhere?

Mexican heart and chin … but not elite talent

Valentina has more boxing experience than Grasso.
Valentina is most likely not going to lose to a striker. It’s going to be someone that can take top position against her on the ground. Valentina isn’t bad off her back but it’s a losing position in the UFC.

Only in boxing range, but there's no way in hell Val will just stand there at that range and box with her lol.

If Val doesn't just hang back and do fuck all and win a boring decision like she did against Carmouche, then there is going to be an absolute slaughter.

Have loved Grasso since the Invicta days, but she's got little chance here.

The only advantage I give Grasso is that she's a million times better looking than Chefchenko, so she has a more of a future outside of fighting in some shitty regional-level division, so she should retire if/when she loses and stop letting her face get smashed in for Venum coupns.

She has good footwork and boxing but not much power behind it. Everything else besides maybe cardio I think valentina does better. Probably her best chances are trying to go for a decision. Valentina does lack activity sometimes. Also shes cute as hell but I dont think the judges give points for that.

How much no chance do I give Grasso? Lots!

The closer we are to this fight, the more I've been thinking about it.

Grasso does have decent kicks -- I like her high kick from her lead leg that has very little tell and she will throw a decent amount of leg kicks, but I think we can all agree that val is better at kicking range.

At boxing range I do give grasso a slight advantage mainly because she's busier and will string together nice combos.

Clinch range you need to favor val, both with the muy thai and the takedowns.

I think on the mat they're at a similar level, but because of val's superior wrestling and takedown game, I expect her to be on top and thus win most of the ground exchanges. Alexa has become very good at scrambling lately and isn't afraid to go for subs. It could be interesting on the mat, but I do think the one on top will be winning the grappling for the most part, and I expect that to be val.
She's way cuter.
The other one has to put on so much makeup it's like a mask.
And Grasso has nicer legs.
She's gonna get beaten like a sick dog though.

Her only chance is the same chance every contender has that the champ is suddenly out of prime. Imo anyway.

Sooner or later shev will have her Pena. I wouldn't be shocked if Grasso happened to be that gal. She has , quietly, become better & better. All it takes would be Shev to become complacent and who could blame her at this point.

I still don’t get why is Val fighting these girls? Grasso didnt beat anyone in the top and looks terrible. Val just had a close fight with Santos where many thought she lost. Rematch or fighting Nunes are the only fights which make sense. Unless she prefers to fight bums and chill to easy wins, but then she should be kicked out of any goat female conversation… Seriously, Lauren Murphy, Jennifer Maia, Chookagian, Carmouche, Eye and now Grasso. Its just a big joke…

She needs to take sticking and moving to a whole different level. I believe she's the faster of the two.

If this is a boxing match, Grasso wins. If this is straight up BJJ, like mundials, Grasso wins.

This is MMA though and Shev has that on lock. She's getting old though.

I give Grasso fight IQ advantage. Also Valentina seems delusional, thinking that she won Santos fight.

Tbf, you don't need to be better than someone anywhere in order to win. Kinda like how 2 heavy hitters fight each other and people pretend the winner proves who hits harder, even though that makes no sense. She's shown she can land clean, meaningful strikes, and that can win a fight

Guess it was the same thing as this, except with the grappling. Grasso was neither the better striker or better grappler, but she's a competent submission artist that knows how to back take and rear naked, and when Val gave her the opportunity, she sunk it.

This is why MMA is great. You just need a moment to be great. New champ Grasso
