Actually, he's a professional Mix Martial Artist, an entertainment sport inspired by combat. Sometimes it resembles a fight more closely than others. Of course, I'm just dicking around but you see where I'm going with this about you arguing semantics instead presenting anything resembling an actual argument for why I'm wrong, right?
Seriously, though, when I say Benson isn't a fighter I'm clearly being metaphorical, not literal. Athleticism is just as important as actual fighting skill or fighting attitude. You can take the most mentally dominant and skilled guy in the world but if he was six hundred pounds and can't even stand on his own legs he's going to lose a fight.
When I say Bendo isn't a fighter I mean that he lacks fighting spirit. His main weapon is no skill or move or plan of action but simply by being a fantastic athlete and out-physically endeavoring his opponents, stalling the actual fight as much as physically possible when he can.
It's still impressive and I said so in my first comment but it's not the same.
Some professional Mixed Martial Artists are fighters, some are athletes. Some are both and some are neither.
