Do we see end of MMA? Another take

It does suck tbh.

Im not one to be triggered by such things, but they really are shoving it down people's throats at this point.

MMA should be an escape from this everyday bullshit we see on TV and Social media.

Preach it brudduh.
Politics aside (and there's PLENTY to complain about there), I find Trump to be a shitty person, have a shitty/fake personality, to be shallow, a hypocrite, and slimy businessman. He's (again, removed from politics) pretty much the polar opposite of what a role model should be.
So, coupling him coming out and staring at his phone through the main card, along with his cabinet who are even more awkwardly fish-out-of-water at the events, with the unforgivable and repeated sin of coming out with Kid Rock, musically accompanied by American Bad Ass . . . .is just vomit-level cringe-inducing to me, and clearly targets a specific audience (like almost all lame balding/energy/"performance" etc., products that get plugged by the UFC)

...But, as a business, they have to cater to the broadest/basest demographic possible, which in every other thing I've ever liked, usually makes it worse.

Well, he has always been involved in fight sports since the 80s and maybe even before. So he probably is a genuine fan, even if he doesnt follow what's individually going on.
He always seems zoned out at the events. I think he's just pragmatic and playing to his base. As for being involved in fight sports in the 80s, it seemed like more of a business function because the fights were held at his casinos.

I'm be extremely surprised if he knows the difference between half guard and north-south.

Im just saying he enjoys watching fights and the fight atmosphere. I dont expect him to go nuts and jump into the octagon when his guy wins lol

Fair enough. His energy at fights are pretty Jeb Bush level though.

It's not just Trump but they showcase other people like Kash Patel and Ted Cruz too. I try to push the politics aside when i watch fights but they keep blasting in at our faces.

It also feels like UFC took their original fans for granted, pivoted to a different base after the TKO deal. They are so comfortable at the APEX that they aren't touring other places. They froze out so much of the original MMA journalists that the press coverage of the sport seems so boring and stale. Because of the UFC's position in MMA now, when they don't do well, it brings an overall chilling effect to the rest of the sport. Overall interest in the sport seems way down.

I still watch MMA but watching the UFC now feels more and more like a chore.
