Do we have any Brits here to tell us what's happening in that country?

That's right. Andy Murray was Sports Personality Of The Year last year... That tells you all you need to know about my nation.

I live in a country where hockey is the top sport. I feel your pain.

Well, just on the sporting front. We're going to have legal weed here early next year.

How does the UFC pack the O2 Arena if that's really the case?

London loves events. The annual nfl game packs 90000 into wembley stadium each year and only about 10 of them could name a single nfl player. Selling 12000 tickets for the 02 every year is easy. Tv comedians like mickey flannagan do it night after night

I'm a Brit, though not currently living in the UK...and I'm losing my shit out of pure excitement. First McGeary, now Bisping. This is brilliant stuff.

That girl watching fedor fights is hilarious. Did you double take lol.

Yes. She was a new fan it turned out. But not too surprising. if I go on Fedor's fan page on Facebook it shows up basically all the Eastern Europeans on my friends list as mutually liking the page lol... When I trained all the Eastern Euro guys were big fans of course, and even the English trainers there referenced him often (training us the hip trip thing he did on Nog). I trained where Brad Pickett used to before moving to America.

There is not a huge amount of MMA fans over here, but I can imagine there being very few in the US also, if you look at the general population as a whole.

Perhaps 10%? Less?

The British MMA fans are going nuts on social media though.

I was shaking in excitement, and I'm not even a Bisping fan.

I doubt it. MMA is still a fringe thing over in the UK. He'll get a corner of the back pages of the tabloids probably. Maybe he'll get on the back page because the football season has finished.

Just like here in Ireland, they don't give any coverage to even boxers winning world titles. Nobody cares if you're not kicking a ball or hitting a ball with a stick.

Isn't Conor super popular in Ireland?

I thought the O2 held 20K.

Generally in the uk and ireland if you follow boxing you will also know a bit about mma. The average sports fan will know a few boxers but zero about mma

Little bit on the BBC site. Hopefully more rolling out in Mondays papers

It's carnage!

To be honest, not much people are going to talk about it, even the casuals I don't think were probably that interested in this card, people will be talking about it when they are back at the gym.

What has given you that impression? MMA is very much a niche sport here.

Admittedly, most of the UFC's marketing/promos. I have to give it to them because that shit worked for me. I had this idea in my head that Conor couldn't walk down the street without being mobbed.

It's like 7am on a Sunday, they're still passed out drunk.

Its funny how golfers and actors get knighthoods, but Micheal an actual fighting champion of the world probably won't sniff one.
