Do u think Gane can escape Francis’ blitz?

That's what the Stipe fans were hoping he would do but look what happened:

TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.gif
That’s because Stipe has declined badly. It was evident throughout the Cormier fights (even the ones that Stipe won). I was not surprised to see Francis KO Stipe at all. Gane is not past prime and declining, and Francis will not have an easy time with him imho.

Honestly I think its a little of both, Ngannou was calmer and more accurate, Stipe was probably older and a bit slower.

Really I think its very hard to know how Gane might deal with it since we've not seen him pressured much. Movement wise he seems good although I wouldnt say he's really had to slip out the back door against many opponents Izzy/Mirko style but there simply hasnt been much aggressive boxing in his fights to judge.

Of course. He'll make Big Frank look like an absolute amateur. Easy win for Gane.

I don’t disagree with that. I think Ngannou consciously tried to conserve his energy more and not blow his wad as in the past. I also think he made some improvements to his game in the 3 years between the 2 Stipe fights. I just find that many posters attribute Ngannou winning the Stipe rematch to some massive growth and improvement on Francis’s part, and I don’t think that’s accurate. I think Ngannou improved *some*, and Stipe declined quite a bit. But time will tell.

My namesake Frank needs to cut off the cage better than Lewis did.
He's faster and more athletic than Lewis. But he definitely needs a heavy movement/footwork game plan/training. Especially sprinting towards a fighter trying to back peddle and disengage over and over again. But also can't rush in recklessly incase Gane decides to plant and counter in some of the rushes instead of moving backwards, or he may change levels for a take down/clinch to stop the blitz and disengage after. He'll most likely try to throw leg kicks from distance, Ngannou should sprint forward right when he feels the kick. Gane will be off balance and he tends to throw light kicks just to be active from distance. Use that kick as your sprint starting point, like when sprinters hear the gun shot to start the race.
