Do u honestly think that prime Fedor could beat prime JDS?

Fedor was only 33 when he had 3 losses in a row, the last one to a middleweight. Although he had a lot of fights by that point, he didnt have a lot of MMA mileage, having snuffed out many cans very quickly. Prime JDS would have snuffed him out quickly. Fedor was a GOAT in his day but def not a modern day GOAT. He fought a lot of cans and beat them easily but when he fought anyone tougher, always 3 round decisions.
Only? Why do some of you act like mid 30s is an athletes peak? Jds is 36 and has looked completely shot for years. Cain is 38 and had completely destroyed his body by 32.

I’m a huge Fedor fan, but always thought prime JDS was a bit of a nightmare match for him.

Fedor would destroy JDS, they are on different planets of ability.

Jones absolutely body bags him, in any rule set, and only old men disagree. Fedor murders prime JDS tho, by having wayyyy to much control on top and GNP. He would get him down and smash him to a stoppage

Never talk about GDS again. He is a multi-quitting cur.

I will never pay for any fight card he is on again, from this point forward.

Three quits in a row = a walk around to the back of the barn, put one behind his ear.
you ok? lol

Yes. I do. Watch his fights with Mirko and Big Nog if you need some proof. When he was at his best - fast twitch, aggressive, great grappling and reflexes, awesome recovery, he could beat any heavyweight who's ever lived.

You mix in the fact that JDS is not good defensively backing up, I wouldn't be shocked to see him get knocked out. The pressure he would put on Junior wouldn't allow him to dictate pace and distance or take control of the octagon. Fedor in someone's guard in his prime is a scary sight.
Nah man. I think JDS just boxes him up and knocks him out in the first. Like especially if by prime you mean the one who killed Tim Sylvia.

junior would eat him up all day behind that jab.

excellent post
sorry im outta likes dude

Prime Fedor beats everyone, whether it be JDS, Picto, or anyone else people need to use to try and make themselves feel better.

Fedor took some shots from Hendo to the back of the head in a quick but fair stoppage. He took his loss with dignity. I wish others would follow his example - not naming names.

Terrible stoppage

Did you watch Tim Silviya fight? Big Nog? Maybe Arlovski? Coleman? Randleman? Sure thing you can discredit any of his opponents but they were all scary dudes who happened to be UFC champions ... The Coleman who won the belt was one scary mo fo and Tim Silviya was far from the joke he became... I know you desperately trying to make a valid argument - but you lost this one, be a man and own to it.

lol at trying to discredit Hendo by calling him just a “middleweight”. Guy was a savage in multiple divisions, with nuclear punching power. Fedor got caught by one of the best punchers in MMA, that’s not a terrible loss by any means.

In hindsight the Werdum and Hendo losses weren’t bad at all, especially since he rocked both of them. Worst loss was Bigfoot, but he was also on TRT with a massive size advantage so hard what to make of that. Either way Fedor is the heavyweight GOAT, and I believe his takedown skills combined with his nasty GNP I think he takes out JDS inside the distance

JDS was an absolute destroying machine and looked unstoppable until the incredible Cain! I doubt very much that Fedor would’ve been able to stop prime JDS and the reason why is JDS is extremely hard to take down and control and he stings u from every direction especially his uppercut. What do u think?
I think Fedor, honestly.
Really, Prime Ciggie was, I thought at the time, unbeatable. I really thought he would crush everyone for a decade. But Fedor did so and while at the longest HW reign ever, his aura alone made everyone go up knowing they'd get fucked up badly. The aura, man. That aura.

My super serious question is - why did JDS duck Prime Fedor?

Your questioning a fanboy arguement that was never based on honestly, even in direct comparison to JDS who dropped off more quickly it will carry on blindly being made.

As far as the original question goes I think style wise Fedor would have been the worst matchup of the Pride "big three" for JDS, Jnr at his peak was good enough that nobody would be a sure thing to beat him but Fedor's game was pressure much like Cain's but arguebly with better striking defence.

A McDonald's bjj blackbelt maybe. JDS's idea of a bottom game has always been to just randomly flail about...
Honest question, who has ever gotten on top of JDS without rocking him with punches first?
They say if you wobble someone with strikes it's like they drop a whole belt level. Hurt them bad enough and it's like they're a white belt
