Do u guys member Coleman vs. Shogun 2?

Fuck I remember how angry everyone was at Shogun, iirc he beat Coleman's ass but looked mortal doing it.

Both were really gassed out. I'd need to go back and watch it again to see if it was because of shitty conditioning or then blowing their wads at some point.

Prime Coleman would have pwnt Shogun (again)

Radiation victim Coleman gave him a close fight and might have got the dec if not for the early stoppage

Props to Shogun for one of the biggest career comebacks in mma history. From a war of life and death with Mark Coleman to winning the belt a year later. Inspirational dude right there.

Yeah, I remember thinking shogun was done. Hard to believe he's still wracking up legitimate wins after loooking like a spent fighter way back then

War shogun of course

In a lot of ways, Shogun was the Carlos Condit of 205; very VERY weak takedown defense but it didn't get exploited as badly as it could have, partially due to having good BJJ and some good fortune in avoiding heavy grapplers or wrestlers with good top games. Both of them had really bad losses due to how easy they were to take down; Condit against Maia and Shogun against Sonnen.

I was watching that fight live. I knew Coleman was done when his back was on the fence. Coleman is strong as fuck.

he only won due to a freak accident. If he hadn't, he would have been TKO'd that night.

yea turrible. turning point for shogun though

Yeah, first live event I went too, gf got me the tickets for a christmas present.

Coleman got a standing ovation from the crowd after the fight.

Its insane to me how BJJ black belts like Shogun and Bonnar still got manhandled by Coleman and neither of them came CLOSE to subbing Coleman. Bonnar a Renzo black belt and Shogun a Christiano Marcelo black belt.

Fedor's Sambo armlocks though:

It was a sad fight honestly

Crazy that Shogun came back to be champ after this

As a Pride fan I was all about Shogun but I remember somehow rooting for Coleman by the end, who seemed outclassed but showed tons of heart.

Many I'm just disenchanted but seems like we don't get too many fights like this these days
