Social Do the Japanese love Oda Nobunaga despite knowing what he was about?

that is like talking while drunk...

You think Sherdog is on that level..... Well I look forward to your bikini pics, with the inserted dumb copy paste quote about life underneath........and the surrounding echo chamber sending heart and flame emoji's........

Get to it buddy!!! I like the colours red, gold and blue........

Who? Why are all your threads about other countries? I guess at least it's not about India this time but damn dude.
Yeah he's a strange one. His threads all seem to assume we're all from India.

TS be like "is Anurag Kashyap the new Sanjay Leela Bhansali?"

I'm like bro, nobody knows nor cares who the fuck you're talking about.

I was happy to see one about Japan though. He's learning.

oh, is that who he was? I recall reading a review of hero that was written by a chinese guy from a very cynical perspective. He just seemed to think the emporer or whatever he was, was bloodthirsty and just used unification as a rationale for it all. I'd go along with that from a human nature perspective. That's hitler, stalin, mao and our founding fathers really.
Us founding fathers?

Why would i assume no one knows? He has mutiple movies on Netllix is one of the most known current indian filmmakers.Anurag Kashyap.

Kdramas had their own us based streaming service.

You really don't ever know anyone very well, nobody is an open book, you can look at their actions but that's not even half the story...... You'd have to literally be inside their head and even then you've got the subconscious.

The majority of the people on this planet aren't even thinking on a level to even understand their own actions.......
An alarming amount of people are out here just vibing. Never stopping to consider their decision making progress or why they are the way they are.

I don't think I ever heard about him but Japan had no problem being inhumanly brutal all the way up to ww2 and it's probably not really changed that much at it's core.

The old saying, the more things change, the more they stay the same is very true. Some things change, some rules change but what's actually at the core of things? Naw, that doesn't really change nearly as fast. Can't speak for 'em though, ask them.
You've had some pretty strong divides ever since, conservative elements definitely linger although I think the history of WW2 has really helped make sure the far right has never risen again since, arguably helped by a lot of economic stability, I would argue really Japan represents an alternative to what we've seen in the western world post 2008, after tis economic collapse in 1990 it didnt go with austerity politics(at least not to the same degree) to kickstart the stockmarket and help the super wealthy so you didnt get the same dropoff in living standards of the less well off and not the same degree of resentment the far right could exploit.

Ironically Japan often seems to end up as this time capsule of culture, it arguebly preserved a lot of influence from China in the middle ages in culture and architecture(alot of what we think of as Japanese minmalism actually comes from Tang/Song/Ming era China before the Manchus rule) and you could argue its also preserved the more socialist climate of the west in the post war era when the West itself has shifted back to pre great depression leuze affair economics.

To be honest though you could look at the US/UK and say really they've used WW2 as a way of whitewashing their brutal histories, both nations sold themselves as bastions of liberalism in the 19th century despite presiding over mass racists oppression to outright genocide and I think WW2(which ultimately was fought against the Germans and Japanese carrying out worse versions of the same racial supremist ideology) was exploited it really make that message stick were as a lot of the dark underbelly remained.

They just wanted a war...?
can't make sense out of a psychotic mindset but we know they wanted more, more, more. More what? More land, more gold, more money, more killing, more power. And they're goal was to kill every Indian man woman and child they could and they did a much better job than the people they stole half the land from, the mexicans who are basically Indians mixed with some spanish.

A lot of those people were already wealthy and wealth confiscation by the British was certainly in the cards.

As a consensus matter they wanted to kill Indian babies? Every leader of the American Revolution?

I don't believe America has changed all that much either. It's gotten somewhat better but I don't think it really has. I'm an Indian, so, I had a front row seat to a lot of historical damage and for what's lacking in that sort of damage (no real cowboys coming after us unless you count the police, who interestingly, kill us at a higher rate than any other race, something that's just not even known, at least if that stat is correct). We do not have people trying to eliminate us but there are so many barriers to entry for jobs, so many ways to keep us in places where we can't get great education and even if we do, there are a million requirements for any job worth a damn so no one even has to see you're Indian (or black, or whatever) they can just ace you out because you didn't have 3 years of this, 4 years of that, a masters in this a bachelors in that, it's bullshit. I just stopped playing but I'll never have any decent job as a result. I don't have time for bullshit. No, we ain't changed either.

Anyway, Japan, when I say it hasn't really changed underneath. It's a war culture and as some Japanese person stated very clearly, that when they were deprived of a military but allowed business, they just ran their business' just like the military. the workers there are treated horridly and since I've worked for them before, i know how they can play with people's heads, give the silent treatment, go from treating you like family to a piece of shit, overnight. Naw, those things don't go anywhere overnight and they do not need war conditions to be that way. Sometimes people chide me about what i say and mention the R word but when you notice how things are do I pretend I don't notice things?

that was the policy, that was what was written, or even just said or implied. Google, "nits make lice, the only good indian is a dead indian". And it worked, there really aren't any of us left. maybe a million fullbloods if that, and probably not that. Come a time when we will just be so few and bred out that we won't exist, its' not far from that now.

Look up how places would offer such and such for a male indians scalp and such and such for a woman's or a childs. We were just animals to them and really still are. I just accept it myself, just wish I could be left alone more. that's all.

ya, but I didn't know who the fuck that was. Americans are doing good to know who hirohito was.

the reason it's somewhat interesting is that other people/countries have very different takes. I have an east indian buddy, he hates ghandi. now, what we think of ghandi is that he was some peaceful guy who pushed his country forward and got rid of the brits and the caste system. they don't all feel that way, this guy hates ghandi's guts. Same for Mao, I know chinese people who are very favorable to him while we think of him as a bloodthirsty monster.

I'm sure a lot of people think Bush Jr. was a warmonger too but there were enough americans that liked him enough to get him for 2 terms.

So, they acted the same way the Commanche did and they had better technology?

Where do you think eliminate all Indians was on the priority list of the US in the XVIIIth century?

You do know that both sides knew the treaties between whites and Indians were bs and they just kept making them.

Indians had an unique language, music but what else do you want from most tribal cultures in this century?

pretty much, and depending on the tribes, some were plenty brutal on their own but they didn't have the desire to kill everything, that's a whole nother level. Come across them? Sure, they'd torture you to death but they didn't want to kill everything on the continent. Most of the tribes ideas of war was very limited and petty in comparison to what we had to deal with.

the treaties are another interesting thing, sure they kept breaking them whenever they saw fit but they were also written in ways where no indian without a western education would really have a clue what they were signing, I don't even know how they even signed the treaties, maybe they did like stevie wonder and used their thumbprints.
