Nothing is as simple as "Is this person good or bad." I would think he is a dumb person with a good heart but there is such a thing of being too stupid to realize the things you believe are evil, no matter how well intentioned you approach things. Yeah, donating to help set up children's hospitals is a good thing, but when you are supportive of an attempted genocide, it doesn't matter how "good" you think was. People weren't nazis because they thought "Lemme just be evil here real quick." You might be able to get away with saying Bryce is just good hearted and mistaken if he was going that commonly treaded ground of defending the positive economic impact Hitler had while trying to avoid the obvious evil of his intentions. That's the usual nazi defender starter kit. But his own comments include specific language like "greedy jews" and "dirty jews" so you know where his thoughts lie.

I wish I could remember where I saw this conversation, but someone was talking about some home videos of Eva and Adolf where he spoke to her very humbly and sweetly and there was dancing and it was commented that something was just so incredibly eerie about how not evil he seemed in them. And the ultimate point being made is, yeah, because it's easy to just categorize him as a monster and therefore everything about him was monstrous and inhuman, but you're seeing him in these videos as a human being, and that's why it feels weird. Ironically, just simply making him into a monster is dehumanizing him. And the danger of that is that we can't ever forget the fact that he was a human being and that humans can do incredibly monstrous things. Then, now, and forever. It will always be a worry we need to have.

Oh yeah, making a point by saying the main responsible for the death and torture of thousands of people, with the reason being those people being of an ethnicity Hitler "identified as the problem", is a certainly a respectable point to point out what theory he had.... Be quiet... Because he'd know that belief is from a monster part of him that he sees as a problematic PoV, but still feels that way. Many people are monsters inside in some specific way... But they live well enough because their other self is (for most) the dominant part that totally tames their inner evil side. By speaking it, he already breaks into a barrier that he doesn't see the problem in saying that, meaning he doesn't see it as some ugly part, but as a an ok sentiment...

Did I say I agree with him? My point is that it’s rather it’s better to have a known enemy who shown his cards than one that is quiet about it. At least in the former we can react and do something about it.
