Do people still die from roids?

A drinker can mean a guy who has 2 beers with dinner a couple times a week or a guy who drinks a bottle of vodka a day every day. Neither is "healthy", but the vodka guy is guna have real problems. Same with gear. Your body's individual reaction to stuff heavily plays a factor as well. Dorian Yates and Arnold come to mind with old guys still kicking. And there's plenty of those examples. But there are guys less than a decade in that kicked the bucket.

If you're guna do it, know what could happen to your body. Moderate doses and little to no orals as well as regular bloodwork is the safest way

everyone I know who dabbles either has serious health issues or mental health issues.

Since most professional athletes are on roids now, does that mean we've pretty much mastered safe usage of them?

I mean there are are handful of dudes with heart issues that are way too young to have heart issues, but they are rare. I can only think of Kimbo Slice who died at 42 due to heart attack, and LeBron James' kid having a heart attack at age 18.

Kimbo was obviously a steroid user, and given LeBron's roid history I'm sure his son has access to the good stuff. And the fact that they were all hush-hush about the cause of his heart trouble speaks volumes.

But that's only 2 dudes out of thousands. And there's no proof that roids were the cause of their issues either, so does that mean we've mastered roid usage and dosage to the point where it's not dangerous anymore?
Extreme users still die. Some rather high profile bodybuilders die every year, sadly.

But didn't Arnold have multiple heart surgeries

Bodybuilders still die all the time. In all my years around gyms and sports including at the collegiate level, I never knew a guy that used that didn't eventually have issues. Not fatal. But stomach, reflux, kidneys, liver, to go along with the stuff everyone already knows about. Unless you are working with a doctor and know what you are taking and actually doing, most end up with issues.

I’ve heard people say that bodybuilding is the “sport” with the highest mortality rate, but they’re probably not taking into account stuff like free-solo climbing.
Still a lot of people die from steroid abuse, and professional bodybuilders have a reduced lifespan on average.

You don’t hear about all the deaths because they’re low profile people, even their biggest “stars” don’t compare to the notoriety of a street brawler moonlighting UFC.

And the athletes that use steroids are not pushing the limits so they don’t die, many will have a good physician or even a team overseeing their protocol and monitoring their levels.

23-24 was wild seems like someone was dropping dead once a month. If you abuse shit you shouldn’t expect to live forever anyways.

from my ChatGPT consultation:

How many bodybuilders have died in the past 3 years?

ChatGPT said:

Over the past three years (2022–2024), the bodybuilding community has experienced the loss of several athletes. While exact numbers are challenging to confirm due to varying reports and the prominence of individuals, available information provides some insight:

2022:
  • Reports indicate that 36 bodybuilders passed away in 2022.
    YouTube
2023:
  • In 2023, approximately 50 bodybuilders were reported to have died.
    YouTube
2024:
  • As of late 2024, sources suggest that 23 to 25 bodybuilders have passed away.
    YouTube
These figures are based on available reports and may not encompass all incidents. The causes of these deaths vary, including health complications, accidents, and other factors.

Well shit... we all make our choices in life.

Sad to see that so many, died so young.

Having huge muscles more anabolic steroid use shortens your lifespan which is fact
But what if a homeless guy tries to stab me and I'm able to pick him up and slam him on his head therefore avoiding death. In that situation wouldn't the steroids increase my lifespan?

Nobody is talking about the butterfly effect either. Maybe the 30 seconds it takes to inject the steroids saved me from getting into a head on collision with a semi-truck. Or maybe I did get into that crash and my roided up body allowed me to survive the crash.

He probably stabbed you with shank contaminated with aids, hepatitis, and syphilis, and you will die sooner.

Yea but if he dies soonerer than me I still consider that a win. Also my roided up white blood cells would fight off the disease better than beta normies could so even if I got infected I believe I would last longer than someone not juicing.

I've never done steroids but I believe I am right.

- Athletes dont use close o the dosage a bodybuilder, even a recreational one does use. And also all the other drugs, over eating.

I dont think Lebron kid was because of roids, just a unfortunate acident.

Now if were talkinking people on the bodybuilding/"fitness" side, yes, several of them every year. And it's incredable how they're negacionists about it.

@Brampton_Boy @Sinister @Sano - Tha have involvement with athletes can shime in.

I know several users also. Several of them are in far worst health condition than a fat sedentary guy.

Athletes dont usually die from.steroids. it's not causal, its correlative.

I've been watching Sam Sulek destroy himself for a year or so. He's huge but covered in acne and gets out of breath when having a conversation. Those trenboloney sammies are killing the kid. Now you have a whole new generation starting very young because they are watching these guys on YT and want to be like them. Body dysmorphia is rampant.
- We got 12 years old using here. And i am serious. Even the bodybuilders think those kids are idiots.

everyone I know who dabbles either has serious health issues or mental health issues.
- I tried to alert a 50 year old woman about it. And she is close to jump back on the juyce. You can see that she has real insecurities, everybody has, but i think on the bodybuilding fitness they bigger.
