No surprise that teams propose rule changes on stuff that is affecting them, like the Packers with the tush push trying to "weaken" another NFC contender. Lions held like CRAAAZYYY on almost every pass play last season and it also got called a lot to be fair (not enough, though), so of course they'd like to see a milder punishment for those things. They also proposed something that absolutely makes sense, but it's no surprise coming out of the NFC North, which might have four good teams in the next few years depending on Da Bears:

Defense gets raked over the coals at every opportunity in this league. Throw them a bone. That rule proposal on illegal contact makes sense for everyone.

Honestly wasn't meant to trash the Lions, but they definitely held A LOT. Just wanted to show that teams usually look out for themselves first when they are making proposals (which is reasonable and normal of course). I think where the rule change makes sense is all those 50-50, super soft or flat out wrong defensive holding/illegal contact calls on 3rd and long or 4th and long. On the other hand DBs will just hold even more in those situations and hope to get away with it.

Id rather they take away DPI at the spot of the foul and make it a 10 yard penalty. Same as OPI.

But.....is it good to have a QB that fast? Will he take off more than he should knowig he can run?

Who gives a shit, its whether he can move fast enough in pads. 40 times don't mean shit when everyone is fast as fuck.

Jahmyr Gibbs ran a 4.36 but hes not the fastest guy on the track in the league, hes the fastest fucking guy on the field every damn down.

I never said nobody should run the 40 because it means nothing, you said that. I said who gives a shit about his fast his 40 time was. He's a QB, his primary job is to protect the football and get it to his play makers. Being mobile is the least valuable trait a QB has more often than not.
