Stafford played in a much different league with much worse teams and coaches. He was also an entirely different type of QB who was asked to do more to elevate a shit team. Additionally, he was hurt in 19 of a possible 48 games. Year three, when the team became at least competent, he threw for 5K, 41 TDs and only 16 picks.

Stafford styled on the Niners after Shanny didn't push to trade for him as aggressively and McVay stole him from under their nose. Maybe Shanny and Lynch would have beat KC and not choke away two double digit leads to them in the SB with him. Not sure.

He also only had eleven one-hundred yard rushing performances in first 160 games on Detroit and only had a top fifteen defense twice.

Stafford will always be one of my favorite Lions players. Fuck the Niners.

Purdy's first three seasons are better than what Stafford put up, he has already been in the MVP talk and played in a SB.

As far as the NCAA goes, not close, all Brock Purdy.

This one of the dumbest things I've ever read on sherdog. Let's just forget the talent and coaching, in Staffords 3rd year he threw for 41 TDs and 5k yards.

If Purdy was such a better QB college why the fuck was Stafford the #1 overall pick and Purdy was the last pick in the draft?

yet stafford was the number 1 pick in the draft, where as purdy was the very last. It’s almost like on an island, absent of team contributions, stafford was a significantly better player.
