Frye gave Bitteti he most onesided spanking that I can remember in more that 20 years following mma (ignore what "2004account" or "EndlessCritic" believe), a brutal, savage spanking that moved into gore territory, something truly painful to watch, while Figgie and Moreno gave us a good, balanced scrap.
Figueiredo/Moreno was a very good fight, and even tho I believe Figgie won that fight, Moreno was much closer to a finish than the champ, to be honest.
What I saying is that if Figueiredo continues defending his belt with his fist at waist level, he will have a violent wake up soon.
When I was doing boxing at amateur level, the first lesson at the gym, apart from the 1-2, is "You never, ever, avoid the incoming punches moving your torso backwards". That can work of one punch in a while, but as a technique is a no-no-no.

You mae be right. Also, I don´t want to downplay Moreno's efforts, to be honest. But I don´t remember the last time I saw a fighter expecting a fight basically in the stand up and go to the ring with his hands at waist level. Maybe it was excess of selfconfidence, maybe he was injured, maybe was taunting Moreno to come into reach. But it was painful to watch.
Also yes, he may have won three rounds (IMO), but the was much, much closer to be finished than Moreno.

It reminded me of when Anderson was trying to goad Weidman,but getting hit when he didnt mean to. He was fast enough before,but no longer. So maybe Figgy Smalls was a half step behind what he usually was cos of hospital visit

FWIW I think the technique probably works better in MMA or kickboxing, where leg kicks are also a threat, than it does in straight boxing

I was just struggling to remember a specific fight where the size difference was so pronounced, yet the smaller fighter was relentlessly fearless in his attack with such great success.
