Disappointed with Bose Soundbar

We had a Polk soundbar that was decent, till it died.
We then got a Sonos Beam and the sub. It's great for what it is.

Unfortunately, we rent and can only use the sub when the neighbors are not home. It's that loud.
If I owned a home I would buy a Sonos Arc, the sub and call it a day
This, can confirm, it's even better with a pair of rear speakers as well.

I have them and I don’t find they work as good as the Dre beats i got for free as a gift like 15 years ago honestly. I still wear those beats. I’m not an audiophile but they were free.

I bought new trucks with Bose sound only to be let down but to be fair, my HK however many speaker isn’t much better in my truck or my hellcat

I don’t think you get much now for sound without planning it out
Part of the reason I really like the bose ear buds is they are the only design Ive found that fit and stay in my ear really well. The ones that have a wing that twist in the ear

Soundbars are decent but if you want true surround sound to to really experience Dolby then you need a real 5.1 or 7.1 system. About 10 years ago I got a very well reviewed Pioneer andrew Jones 5.1 system paired to a Denon receiver. The pioneer speakers are considered budget home theater setup but HOLY SHIT the difference. Especially the rear bookshelf speakers. I was blown away while playing Xbox and when stuff happens behind you it actually sounds like it's behind you.

I still have the tower speakers but have upgraded to an SVS sub and center channel. Good for movies but if you crank them up for music it really rocks the house. I only use a soundbar in my bedroom.

You need a sub bro. I have a 5.1 setup from like 20 years ago and a decent receiver and it will crush any soundbar in it's price range. Soundbars are great for a super slim look/feel for like a kitchen or a living room where you want a sleek look but they won't sound great without a sub.
