It's not Aldo's job to not grab the fence. It's the ref's job to catch, prevent and punish the actions deemed against the rules.

I agree that it can be instinctual, but it is ABSOLUTELY the fighter's job to not cheat.

I don't know if I'd call DC's towel trick dirty per se, but deliberate trickery that can't be excused by the fog of fighting is pretty damn low.

Intentionally missing weight is up there. I’d be pissed if I made weight and my opponent was like oh well. Towel trick is pretty dirty though.

It's a decent tactic though. In a grueling fight where im getting outgrappled, tired as fuck while getting beaten on while the other guy smells like shit, tapping out is more of an option

The other side of the sword is that when people do that. . . .it pisses me off. If I'm stuck underneath someone that is nasty and really stinks, it pisses me off more than it saps my will power. And God knows they better stay on top, because if I get out I'm going to do EVERYTHING humanly possible not to be stuck under their sweaty, smelly armpits ever again. LOL.

Most of those are legal. That just depends more on your moral compass. Fighting is dirty period, it's about legal and banned that should be the issue.

How dare he go for a submission or joint-lock while standing. True Gentlemen Fighters tacitly agree to, despite the rules allowing it, never attempt a submission whilst standing nor a strike on the ground.

So in the NBA I guess it's common for European players to not shower or bathe the night before a game so guys don't want to play tight defense on them and gives them space.

He entered through the national guard iirc. Guys that enter SF through the reserves or guard are switched to active duty if they make it . I know he has a reputation of being a dick in the SF Groups. He's a typical gym bully He's hurt more than a few soliders in hand to hand combat training and had to be reprimanded for it.

With all that said he's a top notch operator and probably could've joined CAG (combat application group, the unit, delta force, etc) if he didn't pursue a fighting career.

But this is the same guy who staged a break in at his house to promote his security system. So make up your own mind.

Funny tidbit. He's wife was Chuck Liddell's ex wife. I think Chuck's daughter actually lives with him but don't quote me on that.

Thats awesome. What I took from that is the man is a top notch athlete, a little brighter than I presume, a bit of a scum bag, and sadly that doesn't mean one can't also excel in the Army being all they can be. Sometimes that means being shady apparently.
