Dinosaur Size Comparison | 3d Animation Comparison | Real Scale Comparison

Thought T-Rex was a little smaller and velociraptor was a bit larger tbh.
All those sizes are estimates and the video shows Dinosaurs like Brontosaurus who never existed. brontosaurus was a diplodocus with the head from a brachiosaurus.

But still, T-Rex was massive at around 12m and 5-7 tons as general consens. Giganotosaurus, Mapusaurus and Saurophaganax were all a bit bigger tho.

Velociraptor was chicken sized, the used the size of Deinonychus in Jurrasic Park which was around 3m long.

Velociraptor's nickname is murder turkey :D
Also, you're right, video is not the most accurate and up to date in many points. But the general perspective is correct.

Brontosaurus has been reinstated as a valid genus a few years ago. Pretty interesting stuff imo.

And Tyrannosaurus is still the biggest theropod in terms of body mass.

But yeah, overall the video isn't that accurate. Most of the models used resemble Ark or Jurassic Park dinosaurs instead of basing them of what paleontologists actually think they look like.

Oh really?! Interesting. I'm still working with my childhood knowledge about dinosaurs mostly.
Yea, Tyrannosaurus had a heavy and massive build. I usually don't give too much shits about those weight or length ranges. Some scientist says 13m another says 11m etc. then new estimates make the range smaller like they did with classic Allosaurus; picking out the biggest so your favorite dino is the most badass.

All those classic theropods are way smaller and lighter than Spinosaurus anyways.

I'm way more impressed with big Raptors, like Utahraptor having 3d visuals and climbing up trees, maybe even gliding.

If global warming gets super serious and the atmosphere changes somehow to dinosaur conditions, then I really want us to try to clone and bring back as many dinosaurs as possible regardless of the consequences. We can make all of the flyover states Jurassic Park.

Towards the end I thought they were going to have super saiyan ultra instinct names.

Yep. Was pissed because Deinonychus (no feathers!) was my favorite Dino growing up, and they fake named them...boo

One of my favorites aswell but Velociraptor is a way marketable name.

I actually like them feathered. Gives them some mean birdish evilness and some palette for imagination. Imagine being them agressively coloured, lifting up their reddish protofeathers around their neck while making some mark-shattering Raptor sound and attacking. That's not too bad imo.

Yeah most of the big Theropods like T.rex, Giganotosaurus, Mapusaurus and Carcharodontosaurus were probably real close in height and length. If you take a margin of error and individual variation and the relatively small sample size into account its very hard to make a noticeable distinction imo. Only exception is weight since weight estimates based on femur circumference is fairly reliable as far as I know and T.rex was just so much more bulky than the other ones that it's pretty much certain that it was considerably heavier and more muscular. Probably had to do with the way it hunted.

As for Spinosaurus, that thing has gone through some changes over the last 10 years or so lol. Probably looks nothing like what you're used too from your childhood. Which makes it even cooler imo, since it's just so unique compared to everything else.
