News Ding Dong, Mandatory 2FA is Dead (Important new notes/answers about 2FA)

To combat the problems we encountered, we have instead put together a package of internal fixes on the administrator and forum structure side of the equation to protect you all from these bad actors. We hope that these fixes, updates and plugins will be able to solve the problem without needing to resort to forcing 2FA. We also expect that you should not experience a disruption of services with these fixes. We won't need to migrate, take this rig down to update it or otherwise get in the way of forum life. We realized that it would be better for everyone to try these other fixes first, with 2FA a final tool at our disposal if absolutely necessary.


We should note: it is possible that we will need to push a one-time only password reset on accounts. It is an option we have considered, depending on how the other tweaks and alterations go.


Anyone who freaked out about the initial announcement and suicided their accounts will not have them restored. That's on you.


I want to again thank the forum staff for working hard on this ordeal with me, and to you, the community, thank you for being patient as we work on this.

I am glad you came to your senses, that would have been a disasterious decision.

That shows maturity and good business sense. I am glad the forum is in good hands.

I hate the email thing too. Since I've got WiFi it's simpler for me. Google Authenticator gives a different code every 60 seconds. You put the checkmark to remember you for 30 days. Put the code and you're good for a month. But I can see people not wanting to do it on a fun MMA forum.
 
I just had to provide a 2fa code to log into sherdog on my tablet like two minutes ago. When will that stop?
 
This is funny because a bunch of mods turned into real dickbags over this, acting shocked that some people didn't want 2FA on their karate forum, mocking users who didn't want 2FA, and lying about all the other websites that implemented 2FA. (Not my man @Kowboy On Sherdog, @Gio, @PurpleStorm or @Jackonfire , I was paying attention to which mods turned shitty and my bois in bluenames were top dogs).

Now how do I turn off this fucking shit? I signed up for it and my browser cookies are deleted every time I leave the website, so it was responsible for me only putting effort in once a week to post in a PBP thread.

EDIT: I turned it off.

Just disable it from the settings and it’ll go away. I recommend using a strong, unique password and your account is golden.
