whats the difference between romanian deadlifts and stiff-legged deadlifts?

Stiff-legged dl's are performed with legs kept completely straight (so as to give the hamstrings a maximum possible stretch). When doing a romanian dl, legs are bent when lowering the bar, but you're not actually squatting down as with a conventional deadlift. Does that make sense?

yeh , got it . thanks bro . how far down do u go ? till ur back is 90 degrees?

just before the bar touches the ground

also I think this will clear up the difference between the two:

none of the pics demonstrates a proper RDL!!!

RDL gives better stretch in the hamstring, check out pics in the stickis (exercise list)!

The block is uneccessary, but the lift is started from a pre-loaded position.

I've seen the same movement called "dimmel deadlifts" before. Is it the same thing Carnal?

No, a dimmel dead involves less ROM, is more explosive (thus lighter weights) and done for higher reps.
