difference of muay thai and kick boxing?

The clinch and low kicks. Hopefully someone posts Rufus vs Muai Thai

Muay Thai is 8 point, Kickboxing is 4 point. Muay Thai allows leg kicks and kicks below the waist(apart from groin). Muay Thai also allows grappling and throwing. There is also difference between european style kickboxing(dutch/k1) and Amercian kickboxing which is basically full contact karate.

American Kickboxing(also known as Full contact karate) - Wonderboy, Cung Le
Dutch/k1/european style kickboxing - Hunt, Overeem (these guys wear trunks like boxers)

Isn't Cung Le sanshou? I'd say Scoggins is a better example

Low kicks are not important in Muay Thai. It's only MMA people who act like they're fundamental and hugely important.

"A low kick is like a jab in Muay Thai." Stuff like that. Not true at all.

Then there's Burmese Lethwei where they have no gloves and use heads too.
Fast forward to the 12 minute point

I wanna respond to kocalkilbanna but my phone doesn't want to.
Anyways, no. Kickboxing was not ready for the the leg kicks. Like, at all

Low kicks are not important in Muay Thai ?

Damn I've read some stupid things since I'm on sherdog but this one is the best.

There are huge differences in the sports.

Knees
Elbows
Trips/Sweeps
Clinching
Scoring

Also low kicks are important however if you get two high level Thai fighters, low kicks will be checked a lot, not sure if that was what the post about not being important meant?

Not that different on paper. But everything changes with the different rules.

Stance, footwork, how to put together combinations, counters, ect..

So yes. There is a big difference between kickboxing and Muay thai
