I fucked up and chose Diego by decision. I meant to choose Gilbert by decision.
That probably explains every vote for Sanchez.

I must say I am very surprised that a lot of people have chosen Gil by KO/TKO. Diego has never been finished outside of a cut and has taken monster shots from BJ, HAthaway knee and Ellenberger. I think diego has one of the best chins in MMA and I Cannot see Gilbert knocking out Diego.
Gil by beeing better at everything.
Gilbert by decision - an easy decision losing one round at the most.
How does Diego even deserve this fight?
IF Sanchez of OLD comes out to play... The one where he throws non stop bo-lows and hooks with constant scrambles and pressure, then I think HE CAN take it via decision. Possibly even TKO ref stoppage.
But... we havent seen that Diego in awhile...
This.
Gil is easily top 3 at 155. And I along with a decent amount of other people had him edging out Benson in their fight. Either way it was a closely contested fight.
I don't see how Diego gets this fight either. He's no where near even top 10. But he does have a good name.
Maybe the UFC is just giving him someone they think he could beat to get him another title shot fast.
Possibly. Diego has a relatively big name as the orignal TUF winner along with Forrest and fought his way to a title shot. Digeo also is usually involved in exciting fights and has a unique peronality. Although Diego hasn't looked great of late and isn't highly ranked, i still think it would be a decent win for Gil if he makes it look easy.
Who knows though, the tricky thing is "THE NIGHTMARE" Sanchez might show up and shock some peeps.
Diego hasn't looked good in years. However, at his best, Diego Sanchez is a world beater and a top title contender. He just needs to take fights to the ground and utilise his excellent grappling and BJJ. Problem is he has weak takedowns and is looking slower then ever shooting for TDs
I agree, and on the feet Diego can hold his own (still picture the head kick to Guida) but Gil will out work/land him there i think.
I will just hope for a good fight as a fan of neither.
