Who do you guys have in this fight and how?

I know some of the posts you guys will post will hurt but I still want to know it all nonetheless.

Wish the Diego of old shows but Diego has looked pretty bad from 2010 onwards. Imagine the Diego Sanchez that Beat Karo Parisyan vs Melendez.

Gilbert has the superior striking and maybe wrestling, but if Sanchez pushes the pace and stays aggressive he can win.

Gilbert by decision - an easy decision losing one round at the most.

Sanchez by decision, though the Gomi fight was seriously subpar performance wise, I believe he has the skillset to take it.

That Gomi performance followed by the Hathaway Diego performances were the worst by FAR. Absolutely stung. I wanted him to retire after that fight because of how much it hurt seeing him like that... What happened to the super cut up and in shape Diego that fought Guida and BJ at LW?

Sanchez is the man but he won't be top 10 at 155 ever again. Gil via decision.

Pretty sure that Diego layed on his back for 2 1/2 round's, got a title shot and did less then Hughes in either of his losses to BJ.

I fucked up and chose Diego by decision. I meant to choose Gilbert by decision.

I like Diego, but I don't think he has anything to offer Melendez. Melendez via one-sided UD.

Yeah the Hathaway fight wasn't impressive either lol.

If he came into the Melendez fight in the same shape as against BJ i'd favor him greatly.

That second round against Guida was very discouraging. Seeing a former WW contender on his back against Guida for majority of round 2. He did stuff all of Guida in the last round thought.. And I do not disagree with you that Diego did less than Hughes but I am talking about the shape he came in against BJ. He was super cut up. Against Gomi, he didn't make weight and looked physically horrible.

Diego's striking is not anywhere near the level of Gilberts....that said I don't think Gilbert can do what BJ did, his boxing isn't that good, but its more then enough to keep Sanchez from doing anything.

Sanchez hasnt looked good in a long while. He has no shot against Gilbert.

I must say I am very surprised that a lot of people have chosen Gil by KO/TKO. Diego has never been finished outside of a cut and has taken monster shots from BJ, HAthaway knee and Ellenberger. I think diego has one of the best chins in MMA and I Cannot see Gilbert knocking out Diego.
