Diego Sanchez - The Longest Active Fighter On The Roster Appreciation Thread.

I think Jim Miller is worthy of being listed as a noteable win. He’s beat a who’s who of LW’s and is a UFC legend.

I think Diego should retire after he gets tapped by Gall. This is a passing of the torch kind of fight, if you will.

Came to say this.

Robbie was beating Tiki via controversial cut stoppage before TUF existed.

Edit- dude above is correct, Arvloski has Robbie beat.

Robbie debuted at UFC 37 on may 10th 2002.

Cool fact- Robbie beat Jake Ellenberger via 3rd round TKO just 9 days after going 5 rounds with Johnny Hendricks in their first title fight.
Those dudes also went away... Consecutively it's Diego without question, although technically you're right, BJ Penn too... But not without leaving meanwhile.

OG Diego "The Dream/Nightmare" Sanchez... An amazing human being.

This man has beaten more men, in more towns for more money than almost all of us will ever see. He has slept with more women than a hot water bottle, has partied, yoga'd, YES'd, and cut the tops off asparagus into legend. His fights vs Guida, Parysian and Melendez were JBG porn, and even when he was getting the shit kicked out of him, cut, bleeding, and broken, my dude just kept on moving forward making the craziest mean mugs of all time... There will never be another Diego Sanchez or his like ever again.

It's amazing he's still going after the wars he's had - a true tribute not only to his his fighting spirit, heart, and determination, but also to how well he's looked after himself still to be going at 37 in the way that he is. He put his body through a lot.

He might not have been the greatest fighter, but back in 2007 or so, he seemed like he could be the guy. He almost was. she will be remembered for much, much more.

Awesome thread! You put genuine effort and passion into this and it shows!

I think Diego wants to hit 30 fights before hanging them up. I think he competes tonight and two more times then the era ends.

It was months later. He was on a 30 day doctor suspension after the first fight.

Thanks mang, I appreciate that! I like to make an effort with my OPs in general, though not always - too many lazy threads around here!

Twice more you say? I dunno man - if he wins tonight and leaves his gloves then I might just allow a tear to fall.

His insta shows no signs of leaving after this fight. He wants a few more fights and pay days.

I was so happy... Not least to see him switch back to his vintage style.

I love a brawl as much as the next man, but Diego became "Nightmare" with top control and elbows - "The Dream" was that he was Wanderlei Silva.

I checked his record. Hasnt finished a fight in over a decade. June 21st 2008.
Still, thats an extremely durable and resilient motherfucker.
Check that record again.
