Diego Sanchez - The Longest Active Fighter On The Roster Appreciation Thread.

I checked his record. Hasnt finished a fight in over a decade. June 21st 2008.
Still, thats an extremely durable and resilient motherfucker.

he's maybe the most likely candidate for parkinson's in the entire sport. props for being tough, but he's taken just way too much damage.

isn't the longest active fighter BJ?

Andrei Arlovski made his UFC debut in November 2000 and MMA debut in April 1999. He has a fight scheduled in April

Ive been a career long fan of this maniac

You're correct, the longest active guy on the roster is fighting at 235, but it's Lawler not Sanchez.
Came to say this.

Robbie was beating Tiki via controversial cut stoppage before TUF existed.

Edit- dude above is correct, Arvloski has Robbie beat.

Robbie debuted at UFC 37 on may 10th 2002.

Cool fact- Robbie beat Jake Ellenberger via 3rd round TKO just 9 days after going 5 rounds with Johnny Hendricks in their first title fight.

He will soon replace Gary Goodridge whenever CTE talks come up regarding MMA.

Dude will be drooling in his 40's.

Real convenient how you dont mention the PERFORMANCE ENHANCING STEVIA, ts

Dude is a legend but he should have hung them up after the Giblert fight

Appreciate Diego, appreciate thread. Thanks TS

Diego is an animal. A true man of violence and a legend.

Cool fact- Robbie beat Jake Ellenberger via 3rd round TKO just 9 days after going 5 rounds with Johnny Hendricks in their first title fight.

Those two fights were actually 2 months and 9 days apart. Still solid though. War Robbie.

Fuck yeah TS, well done on this thread.

Diego was my favourite fighter for the longest time. I missed my staff Xmas party to watch him get destroyed against BJ #thefeels. People forget he was 21-0 if you add his tuf wins (against the goat tuf season). Diego just brought an unreal level of passion and intensity to the sport, a truly unique character. It’s actually crazy to think he’s been competing professionally, mostly in the UFC, since Griffin/Bonnar.

Hope he makes the HOF and that he enjoys a happy, healthy retirement (when he does retire).

Diego has never been submitted right? And he hasn't really been manhandled either iirc (besides maybe Koscheck?). Even if Diego is faded this fight is a little closer than I would first expect

Lmao Diego is a mad man. I love how crazy and unintentionally funny he is.

One of my 1st all time favorite fighters...true fighter right there

Not only is he the longest consecutive active fighter on the roster, he’s the only man in UFC history to compete at least once every year for the promotion since 2005. After he fights Gall tomorrow that will be 15 straight years of competing. Wow!!!! That probably won’t happen again although Guida is chomping at his toes with 14.
