Media Diego Sanchez casts doubt on Calvin Kattar's ability to bounce back

Diego's a cool dude. He's out there (who wouldn't after the career he had), but he's open and honest.

Calvin is not a young fighter--he's been doing this since 2007 and he'll be 33 in March. Most people in his division have a considerable drop off around the age of 35, the oldest guy in the top ten being 3 years older than Calvin.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Calvin calls it quits. That said, if he continues, I expect he will take the necessary time off to recover. His coach critiqued Moraes for coming back against Font three months after Sandhagen knocked him out. Chartier (kattar's and fonts coach) said he doesn't let his fighters do any contact training for at least three months after getting knocked out.

If Calvin comes back, i expect it would be in late fall. Every time he loses, the next guy he faces gets brutally finished. Calvin is a really nice guy and I hope the best for him. I am not sure he is young enough to make another run at the title, especially with his age and having to take ample time to recover, but if he decides to continue then it means he believes he can still improve and chase the belt. I'll support him either way.

I mean he's had 1 fight since the beat down and looked great but he still has what... 2 years off?
That could be how long it took him to recover. Don’t think Katter should even spar for 6 odd months after this. Hell maybe call it a year already.

Tbf a lot of people said the same thing about Ortega after Max brutalized him now he's back arguably looking better than ever about to fight for a title. Depends on the person imo. Hope Calvin takes the time necessary to recover, shouldn't even spar for 6 months after a beating like that.

The reason why the Ortega situation was so impressive is because fights like (Max/Ortega) that seem to have serious long term effect on the losing fighter.

Brendan Schaub is a tool but I remember him saying after the Swanson/Choi fight that Choi would never be the same after that. He was right, as Choi went 0-2 after that.

As for Ortega, I think him taking as much time off as he did was super helpful. Often times fighters feel like the need to rush and comeback after a beating. I imagine beat downs like that weigh really heavy on them psychologically speaking.

Ya'll just got a free lesson in self awareness ya'll better put some repekt on the mans name...

Robbie Lawler knows all about raping and taking souls

Diego being brutally honest.

Every post from him has this strange sexual connotation. Who tf writes "my soul has been rapedl". Something is very
serious wrong with this man. Feel sorry for his kids someday learning about this lunatic retard of a father.

Kattar could also always go the Sanchez route and fake a foul to get a dq. Like real warriors do.

Diego not every one has the ability to bounce off the Matt like you did after a Matt brown elbow lol

Well Ortega took a lot of facial damage, but idt he was rocked numerous times like Kattar was. Plus Ortega's corner had the sense to stop the fight. Also, Idt Ortega was completely decimated from round 1, whereas Kattar was. Tho idr the other rounds from the Ortega fight too well

Now English :p

I don't know... I mean Ortega recovered nicely so why couldn't Kattar.

Seems like he has a hard time dealing with his loses.

Doesn't mean Kattar will have the same problem. Though it sure is a tough loss for Kattar.
I dont think you get it, it has nothing to do with "dealing" with the loss.

That was up there for worst beating ever with Gaethje and Ferguson. Kattar will more than likely physically not be the same again

look at ortega after max dicked him.

Frankie got absolutely hammered for 9 rounds against maynard like a decade ago, still went on to beat plenty of ranked guys and nobody questioned his chin until like 8 years later.
