Diego going 0/27 on TDs vs Penn or Frankie going 0/11 vs Aldo 2 - better TDD display?

Both are legit for not having a wrestling background... Motivated Penn did what he wanted.

He also stuffed like 20 takedown attempts from Kenny Florian
 
Aldo has some of the greatest TDD I've ever seen. Even when he does get taken down he's normally back up in seconds

Infact the only time I remember somebody being on top of him for a substantial amount of time was in the Hominick fight after he gassed
 
At a time when GSP, Hughes and Fitch were having their way wrestling with WWs, Penn was giving them fits. Sherk gave up trying after his first attempt.

5th round against Lamas. He was taking some heavy GNP from Lamas near the end of the fight if I recall correctly.
 
Aldo stopping noted wrestler Frankie Edgar from taking him down is much more impressive than Penn stopping noted punching Bag Diego Sanchez from taking him down.

Also pulled guard on Hominick if I recall. I might be wrong but I don't think he was taken down in that fight

Edgar took down Penn 7/25 times between their 3 fights.

Aldo stuffed Edgar 20/22 times between 2 fights and he was up within seconds the two times Frankie took him down.

Honestly both got Rogained hard when they were at the top.
But
To be honest they deserve since Aldo and BabyJ were NOT wrestling based.

I have to give a slight advantage to Aldo since Brazil have a miserable wrestling culture.
In Brazil you do Judo or BJJ and that’s all,so get at the level Aldo got without background is impressive.

Because Edgar TDs are much more difficult to stop he also mixes them up very well
 
How is it not Aldo?

Frankie has legendary takedown skills. Diego does not. It's pretty simple.
