Did you "outstrike" someone if you never threw your power hand?

I know it sounds daft but bear with me.

I've heard a lot of people praising/defending Khabibs stand up but to my mind I don't really remember him throwing, let alone landing more than 3 right hands.

GSP did the same thing to Kos and I wouldn't say GSP outstruck him, humiliated and embarrassed, but not outstruck.

Why are so many people hyping such basic standup?

Khabib outstruck Raging Al.

It was basic and not pretty but he did more on the feet, period. Doesn't matter why or how it happened. It happened.

Klitschko used the jab to win most of his fights.
Did he outstrike ppl?
WELL DUH!

Khabib landed like 100 more shots. Wether he threw a haymaker or jabs, that's getting out struck.

lol even if these punches did not have KO power in them, he outstruck him by every imaginable metric.

TS, if you hit your opponent with either one of your limbs, thats considered a strike. Welcome to fighting.

What you are saying doesn't sound daft, it sounds retarded

I don't get the premise of the OP.

Are you suggesting that you're not outstriking your opponent even if you do better than them in striking?

Haha, it really is meltdown city by Cocainers legion.

Another Khabib sucks thread, just what this forum needs.

I agree. Plus it's weird not you guys don't see what was happening. Al was intentionally letting khabib land several of the jabs, not all but some in order to keep the fight standing. He didn't want it on the ground so he was trying to lure khabib into a standup fight.

TS is underrating jabs by quite a bit it seems. They don't have the power of a cross but they're easily the most important strike in the arsenal of any boxer. If you can use your jab effectively to connect on your opponent and at the same time keep the distance to not eat shots, then you're doing very well from a boxing perspective. Khabib did exactly that and deserves praise for that particular part of his standup.

Also - just because a jab has less power than a power cross, doesn't mean you want to eat them. They get you out of your rhythm and keep you occupied.

At the end of the day, the numbers are clear - Khabib outstruck Al by a big margin.

People are probably saying Khabib outstruck Al due to the fact that his fist made contact with Al’s face much more frequently than vice versa.

Hence, outstruck.

Thanks for the response so far. Ive got an addition though.

If someone lands nothing but lead leg kicks all fight, did they outstrike their opponent.

Also, what were your views on Bisping Hendo 2?

Well his plan worked to some degree then, he lured Khabib into a stand up fight and got beat in a stand up fight.

I dunno, how about I spend 25 minutes jabbing you in the face with my left hand and we'll see if you still have the same stupid opinion.

By your logic Larry Holmes didn't outstrike Tex Cobb

You are correct OP, Al actually out-struck Khabib.
