did this guy had the biggest fall from grace?

Barao and Ronda say hello.

But seriously, Woodley had a style that was bound to get (re) exposed.
Even though Woodley is/ was decent at everything, his game was somewhat limited.
Relied heavily on 1-2 shots Max in his striking and his wrestling.
Not a well rounded striker or grappler, mainly got by on speed and decent timing.

Attributes only get you so far.

It’s also pretty much been the blueprint to beat him even before he was a champ. Dictate the pace, apply pressure against the cage, avoid the hands until he stops throwing.

Being fair to Woodley the 3 guys he lost to were probably the best 3 guys hes fought by a pretty wide margin.

This gen at WW is on another level but Woodley still probably beats all the guys he'd beaten before that.

The entire Gracie family

Relix, Rohn, Rerbert, Rhristopher, Ralex, Randre, Rabrizio, Rackson, Reyshawn, Randy, Rason, Ravid, and Sven disagree with you and challenge you anytime anyplace

Barao took a giant shit, but you can't hold the lower weight classes to the same standard. Those divisions are way underdeveloped and the UFC goes overboard trying to hype up whoever is on a win streak. Like, who was the Mexican kid with the mullet that sherdog had perpetually in the p4p rankings? You have to take the lower weight class hype like WMMA hype, with a grain of salt.

Fedor being this invincible colossus and than all of sudden not and especially losing 3 fights in a row after being undefeated for a long time. The guy was like a god and that became human after all. Still love him though and still the GOAT in my eyes.

That's pretty much what a fall from grace is.
Chuck couldn't survive 2 rounds against anyone on his way down.
Silva went 1-8 after Chris.
...and the list goes on

Never was a champ but does anybody remember the push Roger Huerta got at that time? Made the cover of S.I. and everything.

My underrated boy Kenflo put the molly-whopping on him and his career took a straight dump. I mean, he was a UFC poster child dating a ring girl and everything.

Looking back, it was probably Leonard Garcia that took the soul from Huerta in that barn burner of a fight. Huerta said he never dug that deep before.

When he was on JRE, he said he doesn’t train outside of fight camps. That can’t be a good thing in a fight career. I’ve heard Bernard Hopkins say he used to train 6 days a week even when he didn’t have a fight scheduled, because the older you get, the harder is it to turn it on after you’ve been off.

Woodley wouldn't have the discipline to train like Hopkins, no one could train like Hopkins the way he did after 40, and Woodley's the same age now I believe.
Hopkins never took anything for granted; he trained like his life depended on it.

Barao went from a 31 fight win streak and many saying he was P4P #1 to going 2-8 in his last 10 and cut by the UFC.

BJ Penn for me it’s really bad when you’re getting knocked out by bums at bars.

Sadly, BJ Penn.
From one of the greatest natural talents ever, to..... whatever he is now.

as badly as his recent fight results have been (3 fight losing streak......), and having just watched the above video (well about 1.5minutes of it) I'd suggest to Tyron to hang onto that day job and Train Harder.

Gotta be Penn, or someone like Barao. Who else has numbers like them besides sub-journeymen?

A lot of the obvious ones mentioned already. I'd add Roger Huerta, he was at 20-1 after his sub of Guida in 2007, proceeded to lose a lot of fights after, including many brutal KO's like when he got soccer kicked.

This was pre UFC rankings but a lot of people considered him the best lighter weight fighter in the world.

Either way to go from that to losing like 8 out of your last 10 fights in what theoretically should be your prime is crazy.

Crazy indeed.

But people that had him ranked top 3 p4p at the time are retarded. Aldo, Georges, Anderson, Cain and Jones were all champ and in their prime when Barao held the belt. Top 5 if he was lucky

And Hopkins is still training to this day. Floyd and GSP are also still in the gym in retirement. It’s a different type of dedication and discipline. I think Woodly took his success for granted and probably thought the rest of his career would be as easy as some of his fights.
