Did the UFC dissolve Women's Featherweight division???

It all stems from whether you approach fights from a relative or absolute perspective.

Relative means you’re looking at how good one fighter is vs. the other. You appreciate technique, dominance, etc. irrespective of size and strength. So WMMA can indeed be quite enjoyable and Dakota looks great.

If it’s absolute, then you appreciate the strongest fighters period. So you’re likely drawn to bigger weight classes and definitely wouldn’t watch WMMA.

And it probably gets extra annoying when hearing that such and such top woman is so great and would beat a trained man. This is an old debate as even back in 1994 there was a big event to try to settle this. A top woman kickboxer (on a big run before and undefeated after) fought an average kickboxer (never great before or after). It ended in R2 (worth a watch IMO).

To be fair the division was basically created for Cyborg (now in a different organization) and then maintained by Nunes (now retired).

There is no reason to formally dissolve the division. The UFC needs content to fulfill their media contracts. If the day comes where they can make 2 135ers put on weight to fight for the 145 title they are going to keep that door open. They don't have a seperate 145 roster it costs them nothing.
 
It was done when Nunes was done. It was never really a real div, never had rankings. It was Cyborg and Nunes just holding a belt and defending it vs a few people.
 
Putting aside all the weird projection talk from dorks who post all day, the reality is that UFC events have a limited number of fights that can be exhibited on a given night, and it just so happens that WMMA fights are typically less action-packed than men MMA fights.

It's not about that they are women like you weirdos make it out to be, but it's the same reason people don't typically like to watch morbidly obese men fight. It's just a much lower skill-ceiling. Only woke weirdos would miss the point and make it about sex. No, that's not why most of us here dislike WMMA (and you know this too, you're just addicted to being offended).
