Opinion Did the democrats paint themselves into a corner?

What I've noticed is that every president has blamed the previous problems the nation is experiencing on the previous president. Biden will blame Trump for the economic turbulence the nation is facing., similar to how Trump blamed Obama, and how Obama blamed GWB.

The question is, will these claims be credible
Pretty sure you answered your own question.

I think he was trying to make a comparison to the swine flu and how more people would have died if such and such did or didn't happen.

It was difficult to keep tbh.

He had specific comments about them not having testing because of Obama or something. It was bizarre. The guy A) doesn't feel the slightest bit constrained by the truth, B) is dumb as shit, and C) thinks his fans are even dumber than he is.

Biden has won. The Senate stays republican and the house is too close for the democrats to vote for anything too controversial or else their own people will not vote for it.

With this Biden becomes the new president during the worst economic crisis since the great depression. So first he has to get his team together, confirmation hearings and all the usual procedure. That will take until early summer, still corona moves on and the economy is bleeding. Biden is now the face of this and of course, will get more frustrated because the democrats don’t have the luxury of Obama's first term when they had both chambers. His approvals will drop and this will hurt Biden because he wants to be loved.

Meanwhile, he is getting older and the economy will take years to get better. He has no majority, so he must work together with the republicans which will make the left within his own party incredibly angry, so he will be under attack from them as well. AOC and others will bring up topics, he has no majority to vote for and maybe even in the house she will not get a majority for her plans, because several democrats are afraid, that they will get voted out in the midterms.

Biden will probably use executive orders like Obama / Trump to get things done, but the Scotus and others will stop some of it as well. Because of all of this and his age/ health, he will not get to a second term. So, it will be President Harris vs. the Republican candidate. And let us be honest, even if the media is in love with her, the democratic base or the general population is not. She never got a lot of votes during the primaries and she has the charisma of a wet f blanket.

The democrats were so laser-focused to get Trump out of office, they never had a long-term strategy. Harris is not Obama, not even close and the party can not rally behind her. She is a corporate candidate; she lacks the warmth and the empathy of Biden. There will be millions, like after Obama, who were left behind, and she has no answers for them. If the Republicans find somebody who has and also has the energy like Trump had, they will take back the white house after four years and that would really break the democrats. The left will take over completely and they don’t have a majority in the US (not even in California, as it was proven for example with proposition 16).

hi TapSnap,

did the Democrats paint themselves into a corner by having Joe Biden winning the office of the Presidency?

no, i don't think they did. if winning the White House with BIden is "painting oneself into a corner", the Democrats are going to take that deal 6 days a week and twice on sunday.

if Mr. Sanders or Mrs. Warren (whom i both admire) had won? yeah, then i'd say that they'd be a pretty tight spot on January 20th, right after lunchtime.

In hockey terms this election is something like the defense recovering a dumped puck. You’re glad to have possession but it’s deep in your own zone and now you have to face a fresh line of forecheckers.

Very little of that is an issue. Will Joe Biden work to accomplish his goals and have to work with the GOP to do this? Yes. Is that a bad thing? Absolutely not.

The trumptardic idea that you only do things that benefit your constituents and you only work with your party isn't how good governments operate. So it's silly to paint a President having to work with the other party as some kind of negative outcome.

Trump inherited an economy on the rise and rode it for nearly 4 years until covid.

Obama actually inherited a dumpster fire that blew up in 2008.

Both could be true, I don't know. I'm just saying that new leaders blame catastrophes the nation is facing routinely on previous leaders

A bi-partisan president-senate relationship hasn't worked properly in 20ish years. It's not a "trumptardic idea" to only help your constituents; that's an idea that permeates through the senate and the house as well. Which is why we still have no additional stimulus plan despite a large portion of Americans facing economic peril.

Yes, it's trumptardic for a President to do so.

We have no additional stimulus plan because the GOP Senate and the GOP President couldn't work together. Mitch McConnell wouldn't even put Trump's stimulus ideas on the Senate floor for a vote.

It wasn't just "not a lot", she didn't get a single vote.

Have ya noticed how fucking dumb Trumpers are?
