Did Ngannou really think there was a market for him outside the UFC?

Unless Fury or Wilder have one eye on retirement it seems unlikely.

Ngannou is going to make more money then Connie McGregor. Stay mad

I think he gets a fight with wilder or joshua.

Wilder more likely.

Not sure how much they make off it though. He is the B side for sure.

Not to mention that in a 12 round fight, francis will gas by the 6th round, if he isn't already knocked out by then.

Oh yes Francis out there right now with big contracts waiting for

Very few are making the big money in boxing. If it was there McGregor wouldn't be in the UFC. McGregor was only able to get 1 big one. Francis' value is much less.
Conor doesnt get big money boxing contracts for several obvious reasons lol. He isnt a draw and he isnt a good boxer.

Get your facts straight and check your tone bro lol

I’m not sure, this IMO how things chronologically played out.,,

Most bviously Francis became jaded while the UFC was pushing the Miocic vs Cormier trilogy, over this several year long period there were extremely bad decisions made by the UFC IRT fairness and meritocracy… nothing new.

During the time frame of when Ngannou lost to Stipe in 2018 and won the belt in 2022, Stipe had 3 fights all versus Cormier, honestly IMO the last fight was unnecessary and ridiculous since Cormier wasn’t even a dominant champ and was badly finished. I’m just saying that DC literally said in interviews that he didn’t want any of Francis…and would only fight Stipe, lol, this comes back to bite DC.

Moving forward, during the time between the 2nd/3rd Miocic vs Cormier fights Stipe was out due to eye surgery for an entire year, simultaneously while the trilogy played out Francis had 5 fights with a 4 fight first round KO streak while getting 3 performance bonuses, yet Ngannou was consistently snuffed for the TS.

Additionally between the 2nd/3rd Miocic vs Cormier fights, Francis was asking for fights and also put out there that an interim HW title would be appropriate, but remember DC had zero interest in fighting Francis. Add this was to be Daniels last fight and the UFC wasn’t interested in keeping Francis happy in lieu of taking care of companyshill eyepoker, Francis obviously was frustrated.

Fast forward and Francis finds himself in a position of having leverage, I’m guessing that he also had many yes me in his ear reminding him of how things played out…

The equation was simple, Francis wanted to get payed, put the screws to the UFC, make a statement and get free… IMO he accomplished part of his goal.
However Francis will soon find out that there will be a large price tag to be paid, that money will be gone, fans have a short memory, the UFC is a machine that doesn’t need any fighter, not even McGregor… sadly they’re all expendable.

The fact he's in talks with glory and bellator isn't a good sign. If he does get a boxing match it'll be a one off with not as much money as he thinks he was going to get. He wasn't a draw for the ufc and it won't take very long for fans to forget about him if they already haven't.

McGregor is the only 1 who got big money crossing over to boxing and that was because he is a draw. Lick my tone.

I wonder how many actual posters are here vs UFC shills. Thinking it’s about 80% shills. Certainty it’s 80% shill posts.

why wouldn't Tyson fury take an easy fight for big money? Floyd been doing this for years.
Floyd was retired and held no belts any longer.. Tyson is not retired and has multiple belts. Pretty easy to understand right there.

Someone expressed interest to Francis and he took the leap. The biggest pay day would be against Tyson Fury however, Fury has some lucrative options in boxing on the table. Usyk and Fury would break all kind of records.

I was surprised to hear that Wilder was interested in a fight. Although, I’m not sure how big of fight that is. If the UFC wanted to pay him $8mili a fight that seemed like a good deal.

Funny how the posts bashing Francis get to stay on the UFC forum but the one showing that he’s in serious talks with Wilder gets moved to the boxing sub forum.

There isnt anything for him compared to what he could have done with the UFC.

There is no boxing fight for him that would have even equaled the 8 million he would have made to fight Jones. He's looking at guys like Canelo and Fury and he doesn't seem to register the fact they have an entire team careers worth of work to get to the payday they have. He's just about 40 and doesn't have the time to build a resume like theirs to be worth anything in boxing.

What's he going to do in kickboxing? Those guys are criminally underpaid.

Other orgs? Lmao. What's he going to do there? Fight way under his ability and do nothing with his career either for money or recognition.

He played himself like a fiddle. Got to the UFC gold and fought once once in two years. He's had more surgeries than UFC title defenses. He's 40 and uncharasmatic. In the long run all will be told. Hes going to be forgotten.

Yeh I mean if I’d just put a clickbaity title like ‘This NEW DEVELOPEMT shows there’s a market for Francis outside the UFC’ would the thread still be in here?

<BC1>

There is no Wilder fight. And even if there were, Wilder is not some huge draw. He's spent most of his career in 4000 seaters in Alabama.

Wilder made $20 million to fight Ortiz and Helenius.

The Francis fight would be FAR more marketable.. total purse would likely be 100mil, with francis getting at least 20 of it.

Naw, if they were looking to retire they'd take a bigger money fight against another title-holder. Francis is only a good choice if they want a easy payday while stretching out their careers.

"price himself out of MMA" ...

where do KIDS come up with this shit ?

The dude legitimately got scammed by the UFC signing him to a bitcoin-ppv scam.

Try following facts instead of making up perceptions from your imagination.

Apparently "fact checker" forgot basics about checking, and facts.
