Looks like about 15 seconds into the fight. Right before Fedor lands that throw from the clinch. Seems like Mir caught Fedor on the temple or top of the head and caused him to lose his footing a bit. Or was it just a slip?

Chaels striking looked very sharp vs Rampage

I could see him jabbing Fedor up and possibly chin checking him opening up a lot of takedown opportunities

Thoughts?

It’s hard to say whether it was the punch or not, but neither would surprise me. Both of those guys have shaky chins at this point.

I think chin checking a heavyweight with crisp power is risky. If Sonnen is smart, he’ll play it technical and not play into Fedor’s strengths.

Can’t really tell, but I certainly felt a pang of fear at that moment.

It could be a slip, it looks Fedor was a little off balance from the previous leg kick Mir landed. Anyway, nothing serious, since Fedor got up immediately and proceeded to throw Frank to the ground, knee him in the gut and put his lights out.

Definitely caught him..fedor got hit hard with the hook he was too stationary..and got dropped but recovered well to his credit..this fight went almost exactly how i thought it would in the sense it would it be unpredictable ..but i thought mir would win

Looks like he got dropped/wobbled. Fedor is pretty damn chinny at this point, not surprising.

Fedor baby wow he made it look easy quick work of Mir.
If Sonnens his next opponent I pray for Sonnen. I'm betting the house on Fedor.

Sonnen's best route will be to stick and move with that awkard boxing style he has. He will be the smaller, faster, guy.

If he leans on his wrestling too much he'll end up in the clinch, where Fedor kills him. Kills him FAST.

I don´t think so, The hip toss second after that was to perfect to be wobbled.

flashed him at the very least, but it seemed like he has his feet under him right away

Fedor took the shot and recovered then promptly threw mirs fatass on the ground haha.

CHAEL looked good against a very overweight and slow rampage.Fedor is twice as fast and just as powerful it' very hard to imagine a situation where CHAEL would be successful on the feet.Should he get it to the ground CHAEL is not safe whatsoever.Fedor will be bigger and stronger the CHAEL and fedor outmuscled ubermir.

Great to see Mir get KTFO after years of BS comments hahaha chaels next.

I don’t know man, I’d imagine fedor is going to be at least a 2.5 to 1 favorite. Not worth the betting risk.

Imagine having to watch your money disappear over 15 minutes of chael wrassling

You gotta admit you had to be a little worried before the clinch throw. I thought Mir was gonna sleep him.

I could see Chael landing one of those sneaky overhand lefts and hurting Fedor like the one he dropped Anderson Silva with.

Actually I probably was one of the only ppl completely convinced Mir wouldn't ko fedya.

Fedor has never been 1 punch ko'd and Frank has never been a killer on the feet.Fedor had the clear handspeed advantage I fully expected Mir to shoot for takedowns. My only fear was Mir on top fresh and early.

I'm a gigantic fedor fan I've analyzed every fight he's had and even when Frank tagged him I could tell by his reaction and followup throw he was fine and locked in.

CHAEL doesn't have the speed or power advantage against fedor and it won't be pretty if CHAEL tries to stand with him.Against RAMPAGE ,Chael had the speed and wrestling advantage but with fedya he won't be safe anywhere.

Plus I think Fedor doesn t like chaels hype style of talking trash and will look to probe a point.

Based on Fedor's chin today, I'd say he rocked him.

These aging HW's all seem to have pretty weak chins for the most part (maybe a few are the exception).

Yes. In his last three fights Fedor has looked visibly stunned by almost every punch that lands on him. His chin is gone but it was cool to see him get a win.

How fucked up is it gonna be if Chael knocks him out? That's a real possibility at this point.

I think it was mostly an off-balance thing rather than being really hurt, he judo tossed him right after.

Ye he got rocked like in most of his recent fights. Great recovery but sad to witness him at this stage of his career.
