Yeah, of course if Conor has a close decision fight, haters will say he lost, that much is obvious. As someone who wanted Diaz to win both fights, Conor clearly won round 1, 2, and 4. Against a fighter who never gases , and always comes forward. Great win for Conor.

Again, all the haters came up with the same old excuses when Conor won. You guys are so biased by hate, so does not matter what Conor does :(

Not everyone is a hater. Are you superstitious? Non-haters also agree with this opinion too.

Diaz won the fight in my opinion. Alvarez was very sloppy and himself admitted that Conors pressure got to him.

How? There's no way you can score that fight for Diaz. Conor won rounds 1, 2 and 4, Nate won 3 and 5.

Conor's pressure got to Eddie when he got dropped like one minute into the first round.

In my opinion. Not in the mood to discuss. I believe he won round 2 with his pressure in the second half. It all comes down to opinion.

The problem is, everyone who disagrees with you, you call a Conor lover.

Ok, I am a Conor lover who wanted Diaz to beat Conor in both fights. Thought also would win, and most prob would have if the fight went on.
I predicted Floyd would beat Conor. Not once did I say Conor would win.

Difference between you and me, and a lot of other haters, is i see it how it is. I do not make up excuses just because i am obsessed with hating someone.

I look at the fight the way I see it, and I will answer your questions when I get home, but seriously, it is pointless because you are a hater.

You're acting as though I'm not willing to discuss any refutation. I am, but no one is refuting the points I made.

Mayweather carried McGregor yet he lost the 8th round after he had amped the pace 4 rounds ago.

Lmaoing at the butthurt haters right now.

I've watched this fight three times now, but even watching it live, it was clear to me that Conor McGregor was carried by Mayweather. I'll explain in light detail as to why it was clear:

1. In the first three rounds, Mayweather threw a total of 28 punches, compared to McGregor's 115. Mayweather landed 12 of those shots (43%). McGregor landed 26 (23%). These are the three rounds that most fans give to McGregor, simply for the lack of activity from Mayweather. However, over the course of the last seven rounds, the numbers are much different. After the first three rounds, Mayweather averaged 33 punches per round, landing a ridiculous 67% of them. For comparison, McGregor threw 45 punches per round, but landed only 26% of them. The numbers are quite clear: Once Mayweather started punching, he hit McGregor at will, while McGregor was missing 3/4 punches, and even less of his power punches. Once Mayweather started punching, the fight wasn't even close.

2. Mayweather did this while fighting uncharacteristically. Mayweather completely ditched his hyper-defensive style. His footwork was largely flat. His shell defense was gone. Even his head movement was lacking in the speed and precision boxing fans are accustomed to. Mayweather often lunged into punches instead of staying square above his hips. McGregor's best chance at winning the fight was always going to be a counter left, and Mayweather handed the opportunities to him in spades. McGregor could not capitalize on Mayweather's uncharacteristically sloppy fighting. I've seen people blame it on Mayweather's age, but these aren't age-related techniques that he was missing. If he was a step slower than we thought he'd be, that would be one thing, but his signature style that brought him 49 consecutive wins was mysteriously gone. The only explanation to him abandoning his style was that he wanted, in his own words, to "give the fans a good fight". It wouldn't be a good fight if Mayweather had gone out and countered McGregor flawlessly and knocking him out in 4 rounds. It was a "good fight" because it made Conor "look good".

3. Mayweather let Conor escape constantly. Mayweather is notoriously good at cutting off the ring against opponents when he's moving forward. Against Conor, he gave up distance and allowed Conor to move laterally in circles, almost as though they were fighting in an octagon instead of a ring. Perhaps a gentleman's agreement? Mayweather's best counters come when he traps an opponent in a corner and counters desperate shots; Against McGregor, he never even attempted to get in McGregor's path to pursue one of his trademark skills.

I don't know if Conor has giant balls, or loves money more than brain cells, and I've certainly been hard on him before and after the fight. Mad respect for even climbing in the ring against one of the greatest of all time; That said, it is clear even on a very basic analysis of the fight that Mayweather didn't take it seriously, and allowed Connor to look "good" to the uninitiated. It was a fun fight, but it wasn't competitive.

I believe that Mayweather abandoned the skills that he was best at to allow McGregor to look competitive. He did it for the fans after promising to make up for the Pacquiao fight. That said: I think Mayweather could have finished the fight much earlier if he treated McGregor like a real boxer.

Thanks for the post.

I think Floyd did take it serious.. but after the first 3 rounds with his version of 'rope-a-dope' he just outclasses Conor big time.

Floyd even changed his style he was more sloppy then usual and he walked forward, leading the fight and looking to put him out for the first time in like a decade or something.. the smaller guys with brittle hands and not a power puncher took out the bigger stronger younger dude.. of course it helps when your a boxing genius and all that.

If Floyd used his old style he would have embarrassing Conor with the stats, just making him miss and goof on him of course most likely he would have made it to a decision but he wanted to get him out of there and he did.

PS: might want to consider changing that AV :D just a friendly suggestion something more pleasant and less disgusting maybe. :D

Yo @Myrddin Wild you saw this my man ? :D

I think McGregor doing well in round 8 is a credit to Conor and his heart but it doesn't disprove that the fight was basically all Floyd's game plan.

Yes of course Floyd met some resistance - it was a fight! But evidently Floyd took it in his stride and didn't get flustered. Floyd was in spar mode and fighting at about 60 percent. Just look at his demeanour throughout.

As for people being "butt hurt"? You do realise Mayweather is in his 40's and has retired twice before. Also significantly smaller but yet still employed a gameplan that gave McGregor a chance.

Floyd could have employed the Pac gameplan . It would have been a rotten fight but the stats would have been pretty embarrassing for Conor. People need to get a grip with reality.

Pitter patter punches against the cage in the last minute of the round don't outweigh two knockdowns and four minutes of control.

10-9 McGregor

The plan was to KO McGregor in the 4th to 6th round as both Jr. and Sr. said. If you watch those rounds, you clearly see Floyd trying to end the fight. The fact that he didn't until the 10th was the reason he called McGregor 'tough' because it took longer than expected. There's no 'carrying', Floyd had a clear gameplan but credit to Conor for holding on til the 10th and actually having some moments from the 4th to the 10th.

It proved he wanted the fight to end midway in the 10th. Also by finish.

No it didn't mean that, the bet was to finish McGregor anytime BEFORE midway in the 10th. Floyd literally said the plan was to get him out of there by the 6th round.

Read the article. There were props on the round and way it would end. He did get the finish with about a minute to spare. He could have had bets placed with other bookies other than the one mentioned in the article.

I have and, unless I'm mistaken, betting on 9.5 means 9 and a half rounds or less. As Floyd said, they thought they were gonna get him out earlier.

Well considering the rounds start at 1 do the math.
