So it wasn't '1 drunk judge'
They couldn't agree on what rounds to give him, so he won 1 2 4 and 5 on at least 1 scorecard, that's how close the rounds were

Jon would be able to handle Jan, don't forget that Jan barely squeeked by MW Jacare relatively recently.

After pretty much losing to a guy with destroyed knees, and an IT consultant, Jon realized his time was running out. He figured that he could eyepoke and oblique kick ancient Stipe to a decision as his retirement fight. Especially after the ten thousand strikes to the head Stipe absorbed against DC. After Ngannou beat Stipe Jon said fuck that and is biding his time for a HW champ he thinks he can beat. He doesn't want to fight Gane either, since he would turn his chicken legs into mush.

- split decisioned a one-legged Thiago Santos

He’s got a lot of fight miles on him and the Reyes fight shows he wasn’t able to hang with the newer generation.

He did hang with the new generation though. Santos and Reyes haven't been the same since they fought him.

Tough part for Jan is that Jon spends little to no time in boxing range where Jan's at his most dangerous. This on top of a great chin is the reason Jon's barely been stung in his career. The other tough part is that unlike the Adesanya fight where Jan was able to salt the fight away with the grappling, this isn't an option with Jon. In fact, the wrestling threat from Jon would likely neutralize his striking a bit. Jan's cardio could use some work too.

The tough part for Jon is that Jan's really good at checking leg kicks, and if he couldn't find a way to consistently get in the clinch and do damage and/or get the fight to the mat, Jon probably doesn't have much to offer Jan offensively on the feet for at least the first three rounds.
