I'm glad we agree not seeing the strike coming makes you more susceptible to getting KOd. That fact and what I said aren't mutually exclusive.Terrible response but that aside, seeing a strike coming is a gigantic factor in how likely the strike is to knock you out.
Stipe is and was better than DC everywhere and was only KO’d by a punch he didn’t see coming as a direct result of an eye poke three seconds prior.
Been shown over the trilogy, surprised it’s even a conversation anymore tbh

Stipe is and was better than DC everywhere? He got 1st round KOd then had a miraculous come back after getting 30-27d in the first 3 rounds of the rematch. If he's better everywhere then he sure enjoyed getting punched in the face and thrown on the ground for some weird reason.
The same argument could be said for the 3rd fight that you're using for the 1st fight. Things weren't going well for Stipe until the eye poke if I remember that uneventful fight correctly.
There, I threw you a bone. You're addiction to arguing on the internet has gotten a small fix you clearly needed.

Naw, I remember DC gassing, because he couldn't properly train for the fight and Stipe was able to take advantage.People forget, just like you forget that Miocic won the round previous to the stoppage one and that double-digit punches to the stomach tend to gas out a person no matter their condition.

I tend to agree -- I didn't get the idea that the eye pokes were the difference. That punch was going to land regardless. Stipe ended up winning the trilogy anyways, but in the first fight, it was a fair win imo with some unfortunate pokes that I don't feel made a difference in the result. I guess you never really know, but that's just my shitty opinion.Because I don't think they would have changed the result . Stipe was doing it too and DCs boxing looked a lot better in that fight than in the next two fights. Two all time greats. Not saying DC is better but I think he won the first fight fair and square.
I agree. Remember how happy everyone was on here when DC won and Brock got in the ring. Now that he lost the trilogy the first fight doesn't even count because of eye pokes. MMA fandom is terrible lol. I'm still here for it because of the memes but forget intelligent conversations on here.I tend to agree -- I didn't get the idea that the eye pokes were the difference. I like how we're pretending like Stipe doesn't have another KO loss directly after an eye poke to Struve of all people. It's almost like being able to see strikes coming and properly react to them really affect his chin or something.
People simply want to give DC a pass as he *probably could've* been good enough to beat Stipe without it. That doesn't mean it didn't obviously impact his win however. Of course it did.
That was the Struve fight.Someone here will answer this easily...
Maybe I've gotten my fights mixed up but I thought Stipe was poked then tkod while distracted by the poke
Weird seeing as DC lost the 3rd round in the rematch.Lol DC beat the shit out of Stipe for 3 rounds in 30-27 fashion in the rematch without using eye pokes. He was the better fighter.
Unfortunately for DC, Stipe is tough and durable and has a great gas tank and DC gassed out from beating the shit out of him for 3 rounds and got stopped late.
DCs cardio was suspect in his prime but by the time he fought Stipe he was 40 years old and had already had back surgery and retired just one fight later.
This version of DC eye poked and brained Stipe in the first round and then 30-27d Stipe in the rematch and gassed out and got TKOd and lost via eye poke in the trilogy.
Acting like the Eye poke was the only factor in DCs success against Stipe is dishonest and reeks of Stipe fanboyism.
