I can see that both ways personally, Cain did tend to rush into aggressive boxing with questionable defence which is suited to DC's game(and sparing they wouldn't be going for a KO) and didnt really have amazing kicks/knees(did have some though) which are his obvious weakness standing but I think the pace would be a big test, if Cormier doesnt finish or at least badly hurt him in 2-3 rounds I could see him fading.

Cain loses every hypothetical matchup because he has the worst striking defense of all time. I watched him in his 5th pro fight get rocked by an absolute can like Kongo! Who get KOd by prime JDS!

Don't try to tell me Cain was shot by the time he fought Ngannou either!

Cain was never good.

I don't know how you would define that as still being in his prime.

He had the raw ability to put together one hell of a resume at HW if he had stayed there for sure. I mean even with the limited time he spent there hes already got a pretty solid one - Stipe, Bigfoot, Barnett, Mir, Lewis, Big Country, Monson is nothing to scoff at.

Frank Mir is a HORRIBLE matchup for Cain. Can't take him down because he's getting armbarred, can't stand with him because Cain's horrible striking defense. Literally no way to win there.

Cain is not nearly as bad as you think buddeh. He was actually really good but alas, he beat the same 3 fighters in his prime and showed he certainly was far from unbeatable in his prime so yeah, you thinking it's ridiculous that i think DC is better than Cain and going on now 3 or 4 replies of complete nonsense, not gonna lie, is pretty hilarious lol
 
I'm not concerned about GOAT debates. I like DC as a man. I like him as a folkstyle and freestyle wrestler. I like him as a coach for kids. I think its incredible the he started MMA so late in life and became so good so fast. Remarkable. Remarkable dude and an incredible athlete. Top marks in my book.
