The rivalry started because Jones said he bet he could take DC down(you know, like every wrestler ever).


DC loves pro-wrestling and knows to cut promo's and trash talk because he understands the game, but he gets offended when someone does it to him. he's a very sensitive man.

That had to mess with DC psychologically he by all means threw first punch (throat strike/push) and then he somehow ended up on the bottom, with Jones above him reigning down punches

Was DC takedown or did he fall off stage?

That wasn't a promo. Jones said it to him when he met him, it was a condescending remark. It's a joke but isn't really a joke. It's like those type of people that try to get away with saying shit but make it seem like a joke but they really mean it.

That wasn't a promo moment because there was no cameras and they didn't know each other, that's just Jones personality clashing with DC's personality and their competitive nature. 2 alphas around each other basically.
 
Just two very competitive individuals one trying to get the edge over the other...

DC was usually laid back and confident against guys he knew he could beat but against Jones he had an uphill battle ahead of him so his personality changed everytime he was around him.

As for Jones, his default behavior is being a dick
 
Jones literally destroyed DC in every way possible. Won every shit talk conversation. Won both fights including a headkick followed up with ruthless ground and pound that left cormier unconscious in the Doggystyle position. Also cormier cried on live television after both fights. Cormier is pretty much Jones son
 
React however they want, the people who were trying to break it up made it worse for Cormier.
