Did Colby deserve to get sniped by Jorge?

Anyone who says it was deserved isn't thinking things through. If you believe that violence is ever an appropriate response to words (excluding clear and immediate threats) you are allowing for people to use violence based entirely on their feelings.

That means someone can punch you because they FEEL you deserve it. I'm glad Masvidal is getting wrecked- he's a POS who had five rounds to do whatever he wanted to Colby, and couldn't.

What are you even ranting about? It's very simple, if the guy owes you money and you have a contract (as you are implying) then go to court, show the contract and if Colby can't prove he paid then easy decision from the judge.

You do not need a high end Miami lawyer for a simple contract dispute. Jeez man, get it together,

Thanks for being so transparent in your naivete or trolling.
If it's the latter, then well done!

If it's the fomer:
-Obviously a "high end" lawyer is going to cost anywhere from $500 minimum to $1000/ hr.
-Even a one man shop kinda firm is in a much smaller city is going to be a few hundred dollars per hour and ~ couple grand just to go to court. And of course if he's hiring someone from podunk wherever, there will be additional fees associated with travel time, etc...
-The idea that anything is ever "simple" when it comes to lawyer's fees and court costs (unless you have friends/family representing you) is hilarious.

Real life ain't what it looks like on TV and in the movies.

Of course, maybe you're right.
Maybe Colby paid him, and instead of obtaining a receipt (to lower his tax liability by at least $3K at the end of the year,) just said "F it, I don't mind paying more than my fair share.... and while I'm at it, how about I just let these guys drag my name through the mud w/0 repercussions. That'll help my chances of finding top notch trainers and sparring partners in the future"
Can you imagine?

LOL at "simple."

Nobody deserves to be attacked physically.

That said, if anyone DID deserve it, Colby would be up there.

What are you talking about, you might be the biggest idiot I've seen on here. This is basic small claims bullshit that's heard every day by self-represented claimants. Jesus dude, get a grip. I know you want to sound smart but you're making yourself out to be an idiot.

Basic contract claims are some of the easiest things courts deal with every single day. You say your location is NY but you must have come from another country to be this confused about very basic contract law.

Are you actually being serious? If so, let me know and I'll send you some basic info, nobody should walk around in life being this ignorant of how the world works.

The incident in which Jorge Masvidal sucker-punched Colby Covington at a restaurant in Miami was undeniably cowardly and wrong, reflecting poorly on both fighters and the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA) as a whole. While MMA is known for its intense rivalries and fierce competition, there are established rules and codes of conduct that fighters are expected to adhere to, both inside and outside the octagon. Masvidal's actions in this situation not only breached these principles but also tarnished the image of MMA athletes as professionals.

Sucker-punching an opponent outside of a sanctioned fight is not only a cowardly act but also a dangerous one. MMA fighters are trained professionals who understand the potential consequences of their actions, and they are expected to resolve their differences in a controlled and regulated environment. Resorting to physical violence in a public place not only puts the safety of others at risk but also displays a lack of discipline and self-control.

Moreover, such actions send a negative message to the fans, especially young and impressionable ones who look up to these fighters as role models. MMA athletes should strive to set an example of sportsmanship and respect for their fellow competitors, even if they have personal conflicts. Masvidal's sucker punch only serves to perpetuate a culture of aggression and hostility, rather than promoting the values of sportsmanship and respect that are essential to the growth and integrity of the sport.

In conclusion, Jorge Masvidal's sucker punch on Colby Covington was a regrettable and wrong action that undermined the principles of professionalism, discipline, and sportsmanship that should be upheld by MMA athletes. Such behavior not only jeopardizes the reputation of the individuals involved but also casts a shadow on the entire sport. MMA fighters should strive to settle their differences in a respectful and controlled manner within the confines of the octagon, adhering to the rules and values that make this sport an honorable and competitive endeavor.
