Did Colby deserve to get sniped by Jorge?

i dont know, i wasnt there and didnt hear their conversations.

So I always thought this was a bit cowardly on Jorge's part. Sucker punching someone for trash talk. Mostly because they had a chance to fight in a regulated environment and Colby handily won

Then i saw things from a separate factor. If Colby's words were potent enough did they deem a counter attack? Whether stealth or not. I've heard that Jorge lives by a code and he carries an answer. However it has seemed to sideline Colby for a year. I don't understand his injury or if the attack was warranted. Hell I don't even know what Colby said

Not even fighter bashing I just want to know what you think on a psychological and legal level

The real psychological question is what the fuck is Colby gunna do when he loses his 3rd title fight as a contender in almost the same number of fights ...

King Edwards ..bless .

I would say Jorge's first mistake was getting involved in an issue that wasn't his. His coach said Colby didn't pay him and Colby said he did. Wasn't Jorge's problem to get involved in but he chose to take his coach's side and start a problem with Colby.

If that was the only incident of scumbag behavior on Colby’s part, then would be a he said scenario.

That said, business expenses are tax deductible; and typically accompanied by receipts/invoices.
if those have been posted/documented, then I must* have missed it.

We live in a civilized society where free speech is a thing.

You can say whatever the fuck you like to whomever you like and realistically you shouldn't have to worry about being assaulted over it.

That said, there are people out there with serious impulse control issues.

Colby can chalk it up to trying to hype a fight and he's right to do so, but if you start talking personal stuff in public about crazy people, don't expect them not to do crazy shit.

This is not what free speech means lol..

Atleast not in Canada and i believe in North America as a whole..

All free speech means is the government can't censor those who speak out about them , like a dictatorship would ...

Nobody has the right to say whatever without repercussions...that said ...

Assault is assault and we all have choices to make as adults...someone can wrong you with words how you choose to react physically or not is up to you .. but no1 is allowed to just say whatever

The incident in which Jorge Masvidal sucker-punched Colby Covington at a restaurant in Miami was undeniably cowardly and wrong, reflecting poorly on both fighters and the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA) as a whole. While MMA is known for its intense rivalries and fierce competition, there are established rules and codes of conduct that fighters are expected to adhere to, both inside and outside the octagon. Masvidal's actions in this situation not only breached these principles but also tarnished the image of MMA athletes as professionals.

Sucker-punching an opponent outside of a sanctioned fight is not only a cowardly act but also a dangerous one. MMA fighters are trained professionals who understand the potential consequences of their actions, and they are expected to resolve their differences in a controlled and regulated environment. Resorting to physical violence in a public place not only puts the safety of others at risk but also displays a lack of discipline and self-control.

Moreover, such actions send a negative message to the fans, especially young and impressionable ones who look up to these fighters as role models. MMA athletes should strive to set an example of sportsmanship and respect for their fellow competitors, even if they have personal conflicts. Masvidal's sucker punch only serves to perpetuate a culture of aggression and hostility, rather than promoting the values of sportsmanship and respect that are essential to the growth and integrity of the sport.

In conclusion, Jorge Masvidal's sucker punch on Colby Covington was a regrettable and wrong action that undermined the principles of professionalism, discipline, and sportsmanship that should be upheld by MMA athletes. Such behavior not only jeopardizes the reputation of the individuals involved but also casts a shadow on the entire sport. MMA fighters should strive to settle their differences in a respectful and controlled manner within the confines of the octagon, adhering to the rules and values that make this sport an honorable and competitive endeavor.
Did you use an ai for this

The narrative got exaggerated majorly with regards to colby insulting jorge family but he did call him a deadbeat loser father which is still a pretty hurtful nasty thing to say.
Regardless i don't think it was justified. Not to that calculated cowardly level but we should at least look objectively and at least appreciate that those comments must have really upset and angered jorge. Maybe he wasn't thinking clearly. He does have form with becoming violent outside of the octagon. Colby was hyping the fight in his own sick way. Leon merely said a few words backstage trying to get a little traction between them for a possible fight. Jorge just unloaded on him. The dude acts on emotions every time not logic.
I mean I don't believe Ben askren was overly cut throat in the build up to their fight but jorge got so heated he was literally taunted the corpse of Ben with a demented grin all over his face

Apparently getting completely EMASCULATED over a 25 minute period in a fair fight AND THEN sucker punching the guy, catching him off guard.
Apparently a big portion of sherdog thinks that's pretty cool.

Ya'll are fuckin' odd for real, bro.

Shit is lowkey weird as fuck.

Street Judas can suck a fat one, lol.

Only people that think it's "super necessary bro" are convicted criminals and low class stains on society.

Jhorehay had 25 minutes to inflict as much pain, humiliation, and damage onto Colby as he could possibly want man vs man. He couldn't do shit so he resorted to cowardice because his feelings were hurtied

Sniped would suggest at least a KO.
Homeboy couldn't even do that with a free suckered punch lol

This incident is exactly what caused me to lose massive amount of RESPECT
for the MMA Community as a whole. I purposely overlooked everything else but this was the final straw.
thats why I gag when i you people talkings about humble this integrity that, blah blah.
its all fake. You guys got your favorites and thats cool but dont dam near harass and bully
other fighters cause of your personal issues you have. I thought we were all here to be entertained.
but apparently not.
it was funny /entertainment when Colby called brazil a dump and a bunch of filthy animals but
its not funny when Izzy ran up and confronted Driscus and showed ddp who was really who.

NOBODY and i mean Nobody had a fcking problem with Masivdal attacking Leon in fact
you all thought it was funny, 3 biscuits and a soda, hell you guys even joined in on the fun.

Now follow me closely
Look at how the energy changes by you guys, when Ali and usman run down on colby at the casino
read the comments.

notice the sudden change in energy. No one found it funny or cool anymore. suddenly all this
morality comes into play when your guy is the one on the receiving end.

(to be continued)

If Jorge didn't get a chance to legally bust him up in the cage, I'd maybe say yes. Jorge did get 25 mins to do it and lost everywhere.

So, no

This is the guy you guys were defending and wanted justice for

below is him talking about Dustin's Child and Wife
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/3ca0w3V3Lq0

now what if Jorge really thought colby slept with his ex behind his back
in their childrens home while he was away. Do you entitled freaks even
comprehend what this could turn to. YOU DONT EVER EVER PLAY
WITH ANOTHER GROWN MAN LIKE THAT. you gotta be out your fcking mind.
again this is what happens when you lived a sheltered privilege life, with the world
making you feel entitled. you get colbys and fans that defend colby. Should he be
shot killed or beaten to a pulp? Of course NOT. but if it happens. well its understood why.

One of the few times i 100 percent agree with dana

Everybody understands MAN CODE. when you cross that line talking about
peoples wives, children, and question their ability to be a Father. You know what time it is.

So to answer your question
PEOPLE HAVE BEEN KILLED FOR LESS .
Colby should take the L and move on

Masvidal had 25 minutes to settle it with Colby and he got punted and the proceeded to act like a puss and jump him with his friends.

Asking if it was justified is insane.

Fuck no, Jorge got his ass handed to him in a fair, one on one fight and then jumped Colby in a restaurant when he wasn't ready.

How anyone could defend that bullshit, I have no idea. Total gutless bitch move.

Yep and Jorge had his chance to get revenge for it... and Colby made him his bitch for 25 minutes and laughed in his face.

so you think physically beating up a man whose family you
insulted makes you invulnerable to future repercussions by that same man.
try that in real life. go insult a mans wife and kids, then go beat em up, and walk
around town without a care in the world. If you're lucky he will call police and press charges...
key words are "IF" and "lucky". as i said before people have been killed for less.
ALOT LESS
<mma3>

What was the verdict ?

Did Colby get a title shot in exchange to drop charges ?
