Did Chimaev really pull out for a broken finger?

UFC fighters duck guys 0.1 lbs heavier than them. Pull out of fights for broken nails <{Heymansnicker}>

PRIDE fighters fought guys 50+ lbs heavier than them, fought with broken hands.

<Deported1> for this generation of fighters

Khabib fought with two broken toes, measles, cholera and diarrhea. Shameless behaviour from chimaev.

Assuming this is the reason he pulled out, I'm fine with it.

That being said, I wonder how many people in this thread would be so understanding & accepting if it was one of Khamzat's opponents who pulled out with a broken finger. I'm betting there would be a lot of inane "QUACK QUACK" posts followed by calls to cut him.

Why imagine things when we have a perfectly broken fingered quacking Chimaev ?

EDIT: Well, it's not the finger it's lungs n shit. My post goes down the drain.

Yeah it’s painful but fuckme it’ll heal fairly quickly, it’s actually embarrassing that a fighter pulls out because of a finger especially how far away the fight is,
I played a game of football with a broken arm
Yeah but your future income was never going to be affected by that one game.

Even if this is true try grappling with a broken thumb. Does a thumb count as a finger.

Gotta say this needless speculation about news is one of the things I both love and hate about forums.

But one thing that'll be interesting to see is the aftermath: if it's true that Khamzat pulled out due to an injury - then it's confirmed that Zubayraev was dead wrong when he posted
"no one pulled out from the fight, soon you will know more, patience"

I really do think the one thing we can do is to take note of whoever makes any claims and whoever is too quick to trust rumors and remember to distrust them going forward.

Yeah I count it as a finger, I probably was a bit over the top, I’m sure he’d fight if it allowed

What about that dude who fought in bellator I think with half an arm, it was literally broken off

Whatever is the reason, pulling out and being that elusive about the real reason doesnt make him look mysterious or tough just another pull out artist that believe he is tougher than he really is.

How do you strike/grapple with a broken finger TS?

The thing is the fighter might be perfectly fine fighting but if he doesn’t pass the pre fight physical it doesn’t matter what he wants to do whether it was a finger or something else.

Would be funny if the break is at the key index finger joint which can sometimes never heal correctly and could be a career ender n he’s looking at early onset severe arthritis.

Lots of people seem to be laughing this off like “lol just a finger lol suck it up and get in there yuh big baby.” I don’t think they realize that a break at certain places of the finger can be an instantaneous permanent life end to any sort of professional athletic aspirations
